JUJUTSU KAISEN Cursed Clash Provides a taste of Power with Engaging 3D combat

JUJUTSU KAISEN Cursed Clash perfectly captures the high-speed action seen in the iconic anime series. Each fighter gives fans a different style while also giving fans an immersive replay of the story from the series so far. Along with a replay-style campaign, players can also fight against friends and even online to compete against other players to test their skills. The 2 VS 2 combat system also adds to the dynamic flow of combat as you can command your ally to attack for a coordinated tag-team combo onslaught, which makes attacks even more satisfying.
Unique Techniques Captured and Unleashed
The combat system has similarities to various 3D action fighters such as games from the My Hero Academia series, but beautifully captures the unique features seen for the world. Cursed Energy is featured as a burst attack that can be activated to increase the power of any number of hits, with special attacks highlighting the signature moves and even the Domain Expansion ability. These moves are also based on activation so a fighter could avoid the activation by dodging or refraining from attacking, giving a fair balance to the overwhelming damage of the attack.
Characters, Moves, and Surprising Moments

There is a huge range of characters featured in the series, but the game does an impressive job of making each character feel unique. This includes the difference between Yuji Itadori and Ryoumen Sukuna, as Sakuna has counters and untouchable moves that make him feel like a boss character even while used by the player. Many of the fighters, like Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki, also have their unique techniques captured perfectly with a combination of specific moves or even how their Cursed Energy power is used.
The oddest fighter out of the selection is specifically Satoru Gojo, which is due to certain moves requiring an aim to be used during the fight. This is a great way to personify his abilities in the gaming world, but there were also times when attacks would lead him to suddenly be right up close. This means that you could be a fair distance but then attacking finds you right up close without any animation or effect in-between. This is a great link to his comical yet OP aesthetic but it’s disorienting to find yourself so close, instantly like a glitch.
Iconic Scenes and Destructive Environments
The amazing Domain Expansions technique is not the only fantastic visuals included in the game. The key locations featured throughout the anime have also been brilliantly captured, adding to the immersion of fighting through scenes of various episodes. The pure destruction and collisions within the urban environment were also a great addition to the experience, which created many satisfying moments when attacking and being hit. Movement around the area even kept multiple-level locations from feeling too huge, with floor-breaking among the favorite features for tantalizing combat. This was seen in the abandoned building seen in episode 3 of Season 1, which introduces Kugisaki.
Story Mode VS Arcade Combat
The story mode was a great way to go through the series and face against the various foes that appeared throughout the anime series, directly. However, there were some instances where it felt too much like a replay, and certain ‘missions’ were simply reiterating the story. This was enjoyable as fans could face foes in various moments in the story, but it also hosted a non-immersive text-based retelling that became galling after a while. Despite this, the voiceover from the cast managed to keep a little hype for these mundane moments.
The online matches and local fights were a vital part of the game as they granted some competitive enjoyment from the franchise. It was a treat to test the skills of different characters against a friend, but it was also fun to face other opponents online. There are some characters like Gojo that require a lot of mastering, but it’s great to engage in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen with different techniques to experience. It will be easy to see this game included in the competition aspect of the gaming community once players start selecting their favorite fighters.
Great Jujustu Sorcerer Starter Experience
Fans who love the franchise and the anime so far will love to play this game to finally experience the fighting styles included in the anime and manga. However, it’s a shame that the story mode is mostly retelling the anime in a comic-strip style instead of offering more dynamic scenes. The combat in the game is the outstanding feature that all fans and players will be diving into, with so many epic characters to test out and enjoy. It will be interesting to see how many other characters could be added over time since the characters captured so far have been a delight to fight with.
