SORAIRO UTILITY TV Anime Confirmed, New Trailer, Cast, and Visuals Revealed 

The new upcoming series Sorairo Utility has been revealed, along with its new cast, visuals, and trailer ahead of its 2025 premiere.

The new upcoming series Sorairo Utility has been revealed, along with its new cast, visuals, and trailer ahead of its 2025 premiere. The new anime series Sorairo Utility is an adaption from the original short film the 2021 special of Sorairo Utility, that has a run time of 14 minutes. You can watch the OVA 2021 special of Sorairo Utility on Crunchyroll, where it is rated at a solid 4.4 out of 5-star rating.  

The 2021 special Sorairo Utility was written by Kota Nozomi and Directed by Kengo Saito. Kota Nozomi is known for writing one other anime title; When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace, based on the original manga story that he also created. Kota Nozomi has written many manga and light novel stories, stories you may have read like; You Like Me, Not My Daughter?!, You Like Me, Don’t You?, The Reunion with twelve fascinating goddesses and many more.

Character Design and Director Kengo Saito has worked on some memorable anime titles over the years including titles such as Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!, Little Witch Academia, Your Lie in April and many more. With how well these animated masterpieces came out, we have high hopes for the new upcoming series Sorairo Utility. With Kengo’s directing talents on the last 2021 special hopefully put into perspective how good this new series will be for its fandom. 

Are you a lover of golf? Then this anime is just right for you, the story follows high school girl Minami, who is a beginner at golf, and her friends Haruka and Ayaka. The sports youth comedy follows the main character Aoba Minami, Minami hasn’t got many ambitions and is not known for having any special talents.

One day Minami discovers an interest in golf, working with her two friends; talented golf genius Akane Haruka and aspiring influencer Hanamori Yumiri, has Minami just found her new hobby? You can check out the first preview video for the upcoming series Sorairo Utility also known as Sky Blue Utility in the player below:

This uplifting warm-hearted comedy is just right for any golf lover or anyone just wanting to watch a chilled anime with a good storyline. Producing the anime series is handled by Yostar Pictures who have produced some of our anime favorites, such as The Boy and the Heron, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, Suzume and many more. The production value of Sorairo Utility will live up to the studio’s reputation. The cast for the upcoming Sorairo Utility series is as follows:

  • Ayaka Hoshimi voiced by Ayasa Goto 
  • Izumi Akina voiced by Yumiri Hanamori

  • Tetsuhiro Tanaka (Tetsu) voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa 

Voice actors for the series made the following comments to their fandom for the show:

Yumiri Hanamori (Voice of Izumi Akina):

“I’m Yumiri Hanamori, who will be playing Akina Izumi in Sky Blue Utility.  I won’t be playing golf with Minami and the others! Izumi is warm and sometimes gentle (?) as she watches over them.  I mean, she already has something very special…? Look forward to the broadcast!” 

Kazuhiko Inoue (voice of Masao Tadokoro (Masa):

“This time, I’m playing the role of Masa. I’m playing the role of a grandfather. Three good friends, all grandfathers. Recording with Kenyu Horiuchi and Toshiyuki Morikawa is a lot of fun!  It’s a heartwarming story. Look forward to it! I think I’ll take this opportunity to start playing golf.” 

Toshiyuki Morikawa (Voice of Tetsuhiro Tanaka):

“I’m Toshiyuki Morikawa, and I’ll be playing the role of Tetsu, one of the Three Amigos at the golf driving range. I love golf in my private life, and the first time I played golf, the members of this trio, Kazuhiko Inoue and Kenyu Horiuchi, were with me! I’d love to have a competition with everyone, to promote the show! Seniors, please be gentle with me” … (laughs) 

Kenyu Horiuchi (role of Chosuke Tanabe (Cho):

“As an old man who loves golf, I am very happy to be able to play golf with my favorite old men “Kazuhiko Inoue. This is a wonderful work that even beginners can enjoy. The three old men liven up the cute main characters, so please check it out.”

The new anime series is slated to debut later in 2025. Its official release date has not yet been revealed.
