WWE Superstar and longtime veteran The Miz recently talked about his career, expressing his belief that he’s in his wrestling prime and what milestone he hopes to achieve before he retires. Miz is a WWE Superstar who is always around. He may be in the title picture or having a non-title feud, but he is always doing solid work no matter where he is on the card.

However, in two years Miz has been doing some of the best work of his career. He had an excellent feud with the Intercontinental champion at the time, GUNTHER. It even looked like he might be the one to end his reign. He and R-Truth started partnering up and became World Tag Team champions before losing the championships to Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh late last month.

The Miz is a seven-time Tag Team champion and a two-time WWE champion. He has been in wrestling since 2003 and it would be logical to assume that he may see his career winding down. However, he was recently a guest on SHAK Wrestling and talked about how he believes he is in his prime and how he believes there is nothing in WWE he can’t do well.

“I’m in it right now and I’m loving it. I’m loving every second of it. My body feels good, I feel like I’m in my prime. I feel more confident than I’ve ever felt in WWE, and so like as a talent, like when I go into the ring I know exactly what I’m doing, I know how to get the audience where I want them to be, and I know how to tell a story and a captivating story.

“I can make you laugh, I can give you drama, if you need a commentator I can do that, if you need a host I can do that. I feel like I’m very good at it. Where this goes after WWE, I don’t know. Like I want to be a great dad, I want to be a great husband. I want Monroe and Madison to grow up with a dad that’s there, that’s present.”

Miz went on to explain how much he enjoys working with R-Truth. He praised Truth and explained how working with him is easy because he has the ability to make anything work and evolve into whatever role is needed of him. He explained that he thinks he also has this ability which is why they work so well together.

The Miz and Truth have continued their feud with Judgement Day and had a match a few weeks back against Bálor, McDonagh and Carlito. Miz and Truth teamed up with Braun Strowman, but failed to gain the victory.

As Miz’s career begins to wind down he was asked what he would like to do before retiring and he listed two last accomplishments he hopes to achieve. He has won every championship available to him, but he has never won this historic type of match.

“Well I gotta win the Royal Rumble, right? And I think right now at the top like today, is to do something at SummerSlam in Cleveland Brown Stadium because it’s a stadium I grew up watching and I think it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me because I don’t think we’ll ever be at Cleveland Brown Stadium ever again because who knows if it’s even going to stay there. So I look at it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I don’t know if that opportunity is going to happen and it’s my hometown because of how much this card is stacked.”

WWE has special matches and tournaments which grant special awards and titles before the Superstar’s name. One of those matches is the Money in the Bank which Miz has already won. The two remaining he has not won are the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring. The Royal Rumble match is much harder to win and has a lot more prestige behind it. He still has some time to win the Royal Rumble, but let’s hope he will be able to make it on the SummerSlam card in his hometown.

Do you think Miz is still in his prime? Is this the best version of Miz ever? What if anything do you think Miz needs to improve on? Do you think Miz will win next year’s Royal Rumble match?
