Paddington Bear is up to more mischief and adventure in the official teaser trailer for his next big-screen adventure. Sony Pictures Entertainment dropped the teaser trailer earlier today for Paddington in Peru. The upcoming feature will be hitting US shores later in January 2025.

The new trailer shows the start of Paddington’s adventure as he seeks to get his passport photo done as he prepares for his big trip to Darkest, Peru. You can check out the newly revealed teaser below:

THE LOVABLE BEAR RETURNS IN THE TEASER TRAILER FOR PADDINGTON IN PERU

The upcoming threequel comes full circle, as Paddington’s story sees him go to Peru to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy, who resides at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon Rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.

The new feature is directed by Dougal Wilson. It stars the returning Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, Carla Tous, and Jim Broadbent. Of course, Ben Whishaw is back as the voice of Paddington, and Imelda Staunton returns as the voice of Aunt Lucy.

It looks like Mortimer is joining the cast as the new actress for Mary Brown, replacing the Oscar-nominated Sally Hawkins(The Shape of Water, Godzilla). Banderas also joins the cast of the upcoming sequel.

The live-action Paddington films were incredibly well-received by critics and audiences alike. The first live-action feature has a critics score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes, while its sequel is rated 99% by critics. Both films were also financially successful. The first film grossed $282 million at the worldwide box office and $76 million domestically off of a $55 million budget. Meanwhile, the sequel made $227 million worldwide and $40 million domestically.

While the film won’t be hitting theaters in the U.S. until January 2025, it will be rolling out in international cinemas first starting in November. Paddington in Peru hits U.S. theaters on Jan. 17, 2025.
