Alexa Bliss will be off TV following the events of Extreme Rules.
This past Sunday at Extreme Rules Bliss took on the RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair. After the match ended Flair took Bliss’s doll, Lilly, from the ringpost and destroyed it. Bliss also took this opportunity to attack Flair. Lilly being ripped to shreds caused Alexa Bliss to become hysterical with grief after the loss of her friend.

According to Wrestling Inc., Alexa Bliss will be written off TV very soon. It isn’t clear if the destruction of Lilly was to write her off TV or if it is a coincidence. We also don’t know if Extreme Rules is the last time we will see her or if she will be on RAW this week.
Following Flair’s dismemberment of Lilly, Flair did a post-interview trying to justify her horrific behavior.
“The Alexa I faced was the old Alexa,” Charlotte said. “It was the Alexa I saw when she held the RAW Women’s Championship multiple times. [Sunday], she fought me and faced me. Yes, I’m still the Queen, but that’s the Lexi we all want to see. I don’t want to hear about Lilly. Ripping up Lilly was a wakeup call. A wakeup call to remind her that she’s still a champion at heart.”
Is This An Excuse To Kill This Dark Bliss?
This is a very interesting quote from Flair for two reasons. First is that it is a bit of a babyface promo from the Queen by showing Bliss so much respect. Second and more interesting is why did she call for the Bliss of old and why Bliss is taking time off.
Alexa Bliss could be just taking some time off to rest up and heal from an injury or something. However, what could also be happening and I think this may be the case, is that she’s changing her gimmick. Alexa Bliss’ current gimmick is from an association with Bray Wyatt, but Wyatt is gone. Maybe Flair bringing up the old Bliss is a way of killing this current Bliss. Also maybe the time off is so people hopefully forget about her current gimmick.

I Love New Bliss But Old Bliss Was Just Pure Bliss
I am personally conflicted on how I feel about Alexa Bliss’ current gimmick. I am a huge fan of Bliss and have been since her NXT days. So her going back to her previous gimmick I am not opposed to at all. However, I do like this current gimmick and some of the cool things they can do with it. On the other hand, without Wyatt it isn’t what it once was and she seems to lose her important matches. If they are going to keep her current gimmick she needs to win matches even if she doesn’t become champion.
We will see if this is an excuse to change her gimmick. Unfortunately we will have to wait a few months to see her return according to Wrestling Inc. My guess is they would just take her off until the new year if they really want her off for months. Hopefully when she returns she gets another title run right away.
