Gaminous & Whitethorn Games bring their critical darling, Lake, to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5!

Sometimes, you just need to get away from the hustle and the bustle of the big city. The quiet of smaller towns and the serenity of nature is good for the soul. Sadly, trying to find time and afford the gas to do that is near impossible right now. Luckily, Gaminous and Whitethorn Games understand, and have delivered Lake to the world! You may not be able to physically get out of town, but you can do it symbolically and virtually, with a bit of time travel, with this game.

Lake Story Trailer

In Lake, the year is 1986 and players play as Meredith Weiss. Meredith’s father is unable to perform his job as a mail carrier, so you are filling in for him for the next two weeks, putting your career at a software company in a big city on hold. Players will live life as Meredith in her quiet hometown of Providence Oaks, Oregon delivering the mail and reconnecting with the town. But regardless of what happens in those two weeks, players will have to choose whether they stay in Providence Oaks, or go back to their life in the big city.

Personally, it feels very Sweet Home Alabama to me, and I am about it. There is something miraculous about going back to a small city where things feel a lot more peaceful and manageable. The general stress level in the air just seems way less. However, I always go back. Maybe Lake can offer something that would make me consider staying. Or maybe I’ll just try to make a bunch of horrible decisions and leave. The game boasts it doesn’t have wrong or right answers so let’s make a mes- erm make our own decisions.

Being 6’ 4” and Asian, he never really fit in, so he got comfortable standing out. Not only is it easy to find him in crowds, he dabbles in the culinary arts, does a little stand up and improv, and can honestly say Spider-Man is the Jesus-like influence of his life.
