WOOOOOO! BECOMING RIC FLAIR RECEIVES OFFICIAL TRAILER AND KEY ART
The new film will document the rise of the 16-time World Champion and 2-Time WWE Hall of Famer. Flair has had one of the most prolific runs in wrestling history and also became one of the most controversial superstars in the business as well. Today, Flair remains a present pop-cultural icon. His iconic “Woooo” catchphrase is still heard at stadiums, arenas, and sporting events across the country.

In Becoming Ric Flair, fans will get to see the real man behind the outrageous personality. The film will feature revealing all and opening up about his storied career, his life inside and outside of the ring over the last 50 years, and more. The film will feature testimonial interviews from WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, boxing legend Mike Tyson, Post Malone, Stephen A. Smith, Flair’s daughter and WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair, and others. They will join together in telling the story behind “The Man” of professional wrestling.
Speaking on the upcoming film, NBCUniversal EVP of Unscripted Content Rod Aissa commented, “Very few people have professional careers as storied as Ric Flair. We can’t wait to give Peacock audiences this revealing, in-depth, and often raw look into the life of one of sports and wrestling’s most controversial icons.” You can also get a look at the newly released key art for the film here:
Based on the trailer, it looks like the film will be a candid and honest look at Ric Flair, aka Richard Fliehr, and how he became one of the most iconic, prolific wrestlers in history. It looks like there will be interviews of his friends, family members, and contemporaries looking at his life and career, along with the good and bad that went with it.
There is almost a sense that Ric Flair worked so hard in crafting his wrestling persona, that the real person underneath, Richard Fliehr, got lost. Flair notes in the footage, “I don’t want to be Richard Fliehr. Maybe when I”m dead.” It looks like the film will also cover Flair’s hospitalization several years ago when he was in a medically induced coma and people feared if he would survive.

Overall, this looks like it will be an honest, warts and all look back at Flair’s career and the indelible mark he left on professional wrestling and pop culture. It should be an interesting viewing experience for longtime fans and Flair enthusiasts.
Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair is directed by Ben Houser and executive produced by Kevin Dunn, Chris Kaiser, and Chris Chambers. Tom Rinaldi serves as the narrator for the feature, which comes in at a length of 120 minutes. WWE also produced the upcoming documentary. It debuts exclusively on the Peacock streaming service on December 26.
