Netflix and A24’s dark comedy, Beef, looks dangerously delicious.
Netflix and A24 are bringing two of the most beloved performers together to pit them against each other in a mortal grudge that will consume their lives. Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, will go head to head after an intense road rage altercation in the upcoming dark comedy series, Beef. Yeun plays Danny, a failing contractor with a chip on his shoulder and Ali Wong plays Amy, a self-made entrepreneur with a picturesque life. Their lives are polarizing opposites of each other, but their rage and anger are kindred spirits in this bound-to-be-explosive series. Check out the trailer below.

Okay, is it just me or is there no way this doesn’t end in sex? There’s road rage, but then there’s this deep seething passion that is confusing and people default it to rage because they can’t believe it is something else. Especially because they are at a point in their lives well passion seems impossible. But you don’t meet up covertly during a dark knight to casually speak about your raging grudge match to ruin each other’s lives as they do at the end of the trailer. Then adorably redirect that rage at a stranger together. But maybe that’s just me. The first look clip does make that seem unlikely though.

Having your day thrown off by the stupid seatbelt not unfastening is one of the most relatable things to ever be included in television. But also, from this clip, I will agree that Amy definitely overreacted to almost getting backed into. But Danny chasing her down was also a bad idea. When Amy drove him into oncoming lanes, then perfectly threw the trash at his windshield like she somehow got a red shell to go backward, he should have cut his losses. But if they followed sound advice there would not bee a series.

Beef looks like it will be a dramatic ride for all of those involved. The road rage will bleed into the lives of the characters and everyone involved in their lives. It is going to be thrilling to see how this all goes down.
