DESTINY 2: The God Rolls for the Mountaintop and the Midnight Coup

The Mountaintop and the Midnight Coup are added to Onslaught's loot in Destiny 2: Into the Light. Here are the god rolls you'll want to grind for.
Destiny 2 brave arsenal guns

It’s no surprise Into the Light brought Destiny 2 back from the edge of extinction. The latest update added the ability to change your guardian’s appearance, fan-favorite exotic missions, and, most significantly, Onslaught.

Onslaught is a new wave-defense game mode where you’ll find some of the game’s best loot. We’ve already covered the god rolls you should be hunting in Week One of Into the Light, but this isn’t a one-and-done type of grind.

The Brave Arsenal Expands

With subsequent weekly updates, Bungie is adding more content to Destiny 2: Into the Light. While we’ll need to wait a little bit longer for the return of Outbreak Perfected, Week Two of Into the Light adds two new weapons to Onslaught’s Brave Arsenal.

This week, Shaxx added the Mountaintop secondary grenade launcher and the Midnight Coup hand cannon to his weapons lineup. As if that wasn’t enough of a grind, each gun has its own shiny, masterwork version, two more weapons that will continue to elude me through waves of Onslaught.

Like the other Brave Arsenal weapons, you’ll receive masterwork versions by completing Arcite 99-40’s quests (and progress toward the Superblack shader). But, naturally, even Arcite’s weapons aren’t as good as they could be, so here are the god rolls to look out for in Destiny 2.

The Mountaintop god rolls

We all remember the days of The Mountaintop dominating Destiny 2 PvP, but don’t worry; those days aren’t returning (hopefully).

With the weapon’s return in Into the Light, Bungie reworked the Micro-Missile perk into a new Breech Grenade Launcher intrinsic perk, retaining its PvE strength and increasing its physics impulse. Get ready to traverse areas with the new rocket jump.

The Mountaintop can roll with Ambitious Assassin, Impulse Amplifier, Demolitionist, Lead from Gold, Slickdraw, Auto-Loading Holster, and Overflow in the Third Column. Fourth-Column perks include Rampage, Vorpal Weapon, Adrenaline Junkie, One for All, Harmony, Reconstruction, and Frenzy.

PvE god rolls:

  • Autoloading Holster / Vorpal Weapon (DPS)
  • Autoloading Holster / Frenzy or Recombination

Midnight Coup God Rolls

Like The Mountaintop, there was a time when everyone was using Midnight Coup in every Crucible match. Although it has since fallen off, the hand cannon returns with this week’s Into the Light update with a new perk pool.

In the Third Column, Midnight Coup can roll with Outlaw, Firefly, Shoot to Loot, Explosive Payload, Moving Target, Attrition Orbs, and Enlightened Action. In the Fourth Column, you can get Rampage, Kinetic Tremors, Zen Moment, One for All, Frenzy, Opening Shot, and Desperate Measures.
