The 92nd Academy Awards Made History: A List of Every Winner

The Academy Awards have come and gone for the 92nd time, but events broke the mold last night. Here is a complete list of the winners, along with our thoughts.
Parasite Takes 92nd Academy Awards

Makeup and Hairstyling

And the Oscar goes to… Bombshell. Of course, no surprise there, especially if you compare Charlize Theron to Megyn Kelly herself.

Kazu Hiro, Anne Morgan and Vivian Baker

International Feature Film

And the Oscar goes to… Parasite. You thought they were done, but Bong Joon-ho won’t stop just there. No surprise, but very very well deserved.

Original Score

And the Oscar goes to… Joker. Not surprised, but I’m so happy about it. So well deserved. Hildur Guonadottir created my favourite score of the entire year, maybe even the decade.

Original Song

And the Oscar goes to… Rocketman. Perhaps still expected, but I don’t know anyone who deserved it more than Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

Their first win together!

Director

And the Oscar goes to… Parasite. One of the biggest surprises of the evening. That was the moment when I thought “Could it be? Could Parasite win Best Picture?”

Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role

And the Oscar goes to… Joaquin Phoenix – Joker. I think he absolutely deserved it, even if it wasn’t a surprise at all. Plus, he had one of the best speeches of the evening.

Second chances are so important.

Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role

And the Oscar goes to… Renee Zellweger – Judy. Not a surprise at all. I would’ve loved Scarlett Johansson or Saoirse Ronan to win, but I think Renee deserved it too.

We’re over the rainbow, Renee.

And now the last category, with the biggest surprise in years…

Best Picture

And the Oscar goes to… Parasite. That was the moment when Twitter literally blew up. Everyone was so hyped, surprised and happy. Because everyone knew that Parasite deserved it at all costs. And it still feels a bit surreal for me. Parasite made history. It’s the first International Feature Film which won Best Picture. What a win, what a film!

And that’s it. The 92nd Academy Awards. Are you happy about the winners? What was your biggest surprise? Let’s discuss everything in the comments below.
