Planet of the Apes Director Debunks Reboot Rumor

While another Planet of the Apes film is forthcoming, this time under Disney since the acquisition of Fox, Director Wes Ball has denied that it's a reboot.

The Planet of The Apes trilogy ended with a bang with 2017’s War for The Planet of the Apes, and while media outlets will have you assume that a new reboot is coming under Disney, this could not be further from the truth.

Wes Ball, director of the upcoming chapter in Caesar’s legacy, had this to say on twitter:



It’s never been easier for film journalists to actually get in touch with the actual people who actually know …. But maybe it’s the point to NOT fact check these days? Regardless. Don’t worry. I won’t ruin surprises, but it’s safe to say Caesar’s legacy will continue… ?

Fact checking is not something many media outlets do today; especially when clickbait and outrage is the name of the game. As for the little we do know about the next film, Wes Ball is known for directing the Maze Runner trilogy, so your expectations for the next Apes installment may have some correlation to your appreciation or lack thereof for those films.
