It has been previously reported that Marvel Studios is looking for an Alison Brie type to take on the role of She-Hulk in the new series coming to Disney+ as a part of Marvel’s Phase 4 of movies and TV shows.
Brie herself commented on the rumors in an interview with James Cordon, which can be viewed here.

Alison Brie Views Being A Type As An Honor
When Cordon asked Brie about this she stated the following:
“I woke up to a lot of Instagram posts of side-by-side pictures of me and She-Hulk, which I just thought, ‘cool.’ And then that quote about an ‘Alison Brie type,’ which honestly, I found very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the ‘Anne Hathaway type’ or the ‘Zooey Deschanel type.’ I was like very flattered to be my own type for somebody else.”
She then proceeded to joke about making some phone calls to Marvel about the part, but then went back and said no such calls had happened. This does, however, beg the question, why doesn’t Marvel just cast Alison Brie if they are looking for an “Alison Brie-type to play the role? One scenario could potentially be that Marvel is looking for a somewhat unknown actor that they could turn into a star similar to the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Tom Holland when they first joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Brie is best known for her starring roles as Annie Edison in the comedy series Community and Trudy Campbell in the drama series Mad Men. She has also starred in various movies such as Scream 4, The Lego Movie, The Disaster Artist, and her upcoming release Promising Young Woman. The plot synopsis for Promising Young Woman is as follows:
“Everyone said Cassie (Carey Mulligan) was a promising young woman, until a mysterious event abruptly derailed her future. But nothing in Cassie’s life is what it appears to be: she’s wickedly smart, tantalizingly cunning, and she is living a secret double life by night. Now, an unexpected encounter is about to give Cassie a chance to right the wrongs of the past.”
