Sounds like the Guardians of the Galaxy may be coming to a Thor: Love and Thunder near you.
Avengers: Endgame purposely left many of the MCU’s heroes looking to new horizons, and subsequently the internet exploded with fans theorising how these loose threads could be tied up in future films. Where did Carol go? How will Bucky and the Falcon move forward now Sam is Captain America? How will Valkyrie fare as King of New Asgard? One thing that got us really fired up was the prospect of Thor blasting back into the depths of the universe with the Guardians, and what adventures they could get up to, and when we might see them next.
We don’t need to wonder for much longer: Vin Diesel confirmed during a press tour for Bloodshot that the Guardians will be featured in the fourth installment of the God of Sparkles’ solo films, Thor: Love and Thunder.

The Galactic Journey To Thor 4
The name was confirmed at SDCC last summer, but aside from Waititi returning to direct and Natalie Portman being confirmed as the next Thor, we were told little else. Since then the rumor mill churned about possible villains, storylines, deaths, and returns.
While we eventually found out Christian Bale has been cast as the villain for Love and Thunder, many people were still left wondering whether the Guardians would make an appearance. Vin Diesel confirmed the rag-tag group would indeed be turning up in an interview to promote his latest film Bloodshot, but h hinted that it may not be all of them.
“I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park,” He said when asked about the Guardians director. “He took The Suicide Squad, so he’s about to embark on it. …The director talked to me about how Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy.” He later sheepishly realised that he’s just blurted out some MCU secrets, as he admitted, “That’ll be very interesting, nobody knows.”
The chemistry between the Guardians and Thor was already fantastic in Endgame, so it’ll be interesting to see where they take it in Thor: Love and Thunder. Judging by Diesel’s interesting wording, it may not be the whole group as we know them, though he did have one more bombshell to drop after the reveal.
“I… only have two words about that character, and that is ‘Alpha Groot'”. Could this be a more threatening version of Groot like he is in the comics, like King Groot? Or could this be him finally growing up and assuming a position with more leadership like Brandon Davis of ComicBook.com suggests? Between Groot and Thor, it looks like Quill has some competition!
