Snowpiercer has been on quite the run in TV and film over the course of the last decade. Based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige, a film adaptation of the film premiered in 2013 starring Hollywood icons like Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt and more.
When 2020 rolled around, a full length TV series based off the same universe premiered in May starring Jennifer Connelly and Dave’s Diggs. The new sci-fi series has performed very well on TNT and was renewed for a second season before the first even began airing.

The confirmation for season 2 came with an announcement that Hollywood regular Sean Bean would be joining the cast in an undisclosed role. That role has just been revealed: he will be portraying a villain named Wilford, who happens to be the creator and caretaker of the Snowpiercer engine.
Who Is Sean Bean In Snowpiercer?
Sean Bean’s role has been kept under wraps for months before now, and its only fitting that he is lending his talents to such an important role in the show’s storyline. The original film had Ed Harris portraying this role, and Bean took it over for one episode in the first season before becoming a series regular for next year.
Bean has had an absolutely legendary career in Hollywood for over 35 years, most notably taking on the role of Boromir in Peter Jackson’s epic Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also has notable appearances through the entire run of Game of Thrones and in popular action films like National Treasure.
The biggest question about Bean’s latest role is whether or not he will actually stay alive. He has a noted history of taking on characters that end up getting killed off, so it will be interesting to see if/when he does end up biting the dust (or in this case, the snow.)
Snowpiercer season 2 is set to premiere on TNT sometime in 2021. Are you looking forward to the addition of Ned Stark? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
