The Falcon and the Winter Soldier were among the many productions that had to temporarily shut down production back in March due to the global pandemic, but the long-awaited Disney+ show is finally back in production.
While Marvel is famously tight-lipped about their productions, we know that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be featuring the U.S. Agent character based on production photos from the set. However whether the storyline will follow the comics remains to be seen.

While the fans have been able to have a glimpse at the U.S. Agent costume, and some concept art, we have yet to see our main characters in costume until a recent social media update by both Sebastian Stan who plays Bucky, the Winter Soldier, and Anthony Mackie who plays Sam Wilson, the Falcon.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Behind-The-Scenes
Sebastian Stan was first to update his Instagram with a shot of himself taking a behind-the-scenes photo of Anthony Mackie, both of them seemingly in costume. Anthony Mackie followed suit by posting the picture Stan took onto his Twitter account. Both photos are black and white so it’s a little difficult to pick up on any small details, but both men are looking pretty chill and badass in their new costumes.
While Anthony Mackie seems to be sporting a similar look to that of his Falcon costume, However, it seems likely that we may be seeing him in an entirely different costume by the end of the season (or perhaps that’s just wishful thinking).

By the end of the Infinity Saga, we saw an aged Steve Rogers pass down his shield to Sam, and trusting him to carry on the Captain America legacy. Seeing as how Sam is the one Steve personally chose to take up the shield, it seems unlikely that we will have to endure the entire series without seeing Sam officially take up the mantle. However it unfolds, fans are sure to be excited to see how Sam Wilson will fight for his new title.
There is no official release date for the show, as Marvel has had to push back dates due to delayed productions. Which in turn caused them to postpone the release of upcoming Marvel movies (notably Black Widow). While the pandemic has certainly affected the release of many studio movies, it has especially been the case for the MCU’s over-arching long-term storytelling. Now that productions are slowly starting up again, hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy the Phase 4 stories unravel on our screens soon.
