Rhea Ripley talks about losing momentum after her WrestleMania match and how it affected her confidence.
Ripley was recently a guest on Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia podcast. She talked about her WrestleMania match with Charlotte Flair. Ripley lost that match and lost her NXT Women’s Championship to Flair. After her WrestleMania match, Rhea Ripley lost confidence because of the halt to her momentum.
“I’m not really too sure [what happened]. It did feel like that though. I definitely have gone through a stage where I did start losing the confidence in myself, because I just wasn’t portrayed the same way that I was. Like even now, I’m still slowly building myself back up from it. My confidence definitely was tainted a little bit, which sucks because I try and keep it up and do my best all the time.
I don’t know if it was something inside my head that just wasn’t getting the picture but like, I don’t know. I got a little bit lost after that. But, right now I feel like I’m getting back on track, especially after doing all the things that I’ve done. Building myself back up has been really, really hard. I’m not gonna lie. It has been very difficult and I’ve been very lost at times, but I’ve definitely found my track now and I’m getting back on it,”

Still Dominant But Not A Destroyer
Rhea Ripley has yet to regain that title. Currently Io Shirai is the NXT Women’s Champion after beating Ripley and Flair in a Triple Threat match. Rhea Ripley can’t seem to beat Shirai as they just had a title match on Nov. 18.

The entire time Rhea Ripley was on top of NXT she was extremely dominant. She beat everyone and didn’t just squeak out a victory but destroyed people. While still being dominant she has yet to fully regain that same level of dominance she had prior.
Is The Main Roster Ready For Rhea Ripley?
“I would like to go to RAW and SmackDown but at the same time, there’s so many people in NXT I haven’t faced yet and I feel like there’s so much more that I could still do. Like I would love to wrestle Candice [LeRae], especially now that she’s changed and her whole persona’s changed. I would love to wrestle Candice. I would love to wrestle Indi Hartwell, I would love to wrestle Shotzi [Blackheart]. I haven’t had a match with Shotzi. I tagged with her, but I haven’t wrestled her.
There’s so many people that I would want to wrestle. I wanna wrestle Raquel [Gonzalez] again. It was [a hell of a match]. We battled each other. It was intense but I would love to face her again. Hell, I would love to do a stipulation match with her. I would love to do a lot of different things. I would love to do WarGames again,”

Ripley Still Has Women To Beat In NXT, RAW And SmackDown Can Wait
That is probably a big problem for NXT wrestlers. So many new people come into NXT and they can picture a feud or match in their head and don’t want to have to wait. So many people from other promotions who have big names and are excited to wrestle come into NXT and then they have to wait for them to get called up.
Rhea Ripley is still young, so there’s no “she has to wrestle this person before she retires” going on. She should wrestle everyone she can in NXT to learn from everyone and teach other women as well.
Do you think Rhea Ripley can become the NXT Women’s Champion again? Do you think Ripley is ready for the main roster or does she have more to learn in NXT? Hit those comments with a Riptide below and let us know what you think.
