Aquaman 2: Pilou Asbaek Cast in Blockbuster Sequel

According to Deadline, Game of Thrones alum Pilou Asbaek is set to join fellow GoT star, Jason Mamoa, in the highly anticipated, Aquaman 2.

Deadline reported that Asbaek would star opposite Mamoa in the upcoming sequel. This could indicate a potential villainous role Asbaek, similar to his role in Game of Thrones.

James Wan is set to return as the director and produce the sequel alongside Peter Safran. James Wan was also attached to direct the Aquaman spin-off titled, The Trench. However, that project has since been canceled.

The first Aquaman film was the DCEU’s first major hit, being the first and only DCEU film so far to cross the $1 billion threshold. Hopefully Aquaman 2 will be able to capitalize on the success of the first.

Aquaman 2 also stars Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as King Orm/Ocean Master, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane / Black Manta. The film will premiere in theaters Dec. 16, 2022.
