Godzilla: New TV Series In The Works For Apple TV+

Apple TV+ will set the stage for a fresh new live-action Godzilla TV series, where the King of Monsters can continue his undefeated reign.

Get ready for another Godzilla-sized ruckus, The undefeated King of Monsters is primed for a magnificent return, and Apple TV+ will set the stage for Godzilla to dominate his foes and show Kaijus and Titans alike who’s the boss in multiple showdowns to come in a fresh new live-action Godzilla TV series.

The Monsterverse is very much alive, as Legendary presses on with the new show that’s yet to be titled, on the heels of the success of Godzilla vs Kong. Following the catastrophic clash between the King of Monsters and the Titans that wrecked San Francisco, not to mention the world-breaking new reality that monsters are real, the new series explores one family’s quest to uncover hidden secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.

Talks about expanding the universe through streaming started after Godzilla v. Kong became one of the first big box-office milestones in the pandemic era. Legendary is already developing another untitled Monsterverse epic but somewhere down the line they realized the potential in developing a series and began talking to buyers that were interested. Apple was the one that came out on top, they showed immediate interest as the company fully intends to add more branded IP to a slate of original TV series that continues to grow, and a deal was soon struck to start development on the series.

Beginning in 2014 with Godzilla and following with 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong, Monsterverse films have grossed approximately $2 billion at the global box office and is expanding with a new anime series, Skull Island. The series will premiere internationally on Apple TV+ in conjunction with a vast selection of ocular magnetic, heart-pulling dramas including upcoming Wool, based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times best-selling trilogy of the same name; Foundation, based on the novels by Isaac Asimov and created by David S. Goyer; Invasion, a new sci-fi drama series from Simon Kinberg and David Weil; and post-apocalyptic series See, starring Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, and Alfre Woodard.

Honestly, I’m just holding out hope for a Godzilla vs Power Rangers movie. Relax, I’m just joking, but seriously, how awesome would it be to see Godzilla fighting the Dragonzord? A man can dream, anyway, I digressed. Sheer epicness and glorious destruction await Kaiju fans, this kind of news is enough to make any fan’s mouth dry, this new Apple TV Plus show can’t get here fast enough.
