In an interview with It’s Gone Viral for the movie The Lost City, Sandra Bullock and Daniel Radcliffe were asked about the Harry Potter actor’s long-rumored past with being cast as the iconic superhero Wolverine.

With talks of an X-Men reboot growing day by day, as Marvel Studios is looking to expand its universe of characters, Radcliffe always seems to be on the top of the line whenever someone talks about who should be recast as Wolverine, just like John Krasinski and Emily Blunt constantly mentioned when someone utters the name “Reed Richards” and “Sue Storm.”

While Krasinski may be playing Reed Richards in the very near (multiversal) future, according to some rumors, Daniel Radcliffe’s bout as Wolverine has been nothing but fan casting. Still, the actor doesn’t mind the rumors, stating that he doesn’t see himself in the role, but Marvel can indeed prove him wrong:

“I don’t see myself, I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.”

Sandra Bullock Takes Up The Daniel Radcliffe Agenda

But Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that the rumor has been persistent, and he has been dealing with it for the last three years: “Mate, that’s been happening to me semi-annually for the last three years.”

This then prompted Bullock to ask why doesn’t he just take the role, even if he hasn’t been approached by Marvel Studios (or anyone for that matter) on the character, going as far as to pressure Marvel to just cast him immediately:

“Wolverine people, can you please just f***ing cast him. Just do it. Stop tiptoeing around and having people ask at press junkets. Just cast the man.”

Wolverine will make his first appearance in a Marvel Studios title with X-Men ’97, but that will be in animated form. It was already confirmed that Cal Dodd will return to voice the iconic character, but the series has nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will pick up after the events of the animated series’ fifth season left off. Who knows what plans Marvel has in mind for the X-Men, beyond ’97, but it’s certainly fun to see Radcliffe being semi-interested in the role, even if the rumors have been quite persistent for him.

The Lost City is now playing in theatres and is directed by Aaron and Adam Nee. It stars Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock, Daniel Radcliffe, Brad Pitt and Da’Vine Joy Randolph. Radcliffe will next be seen in Weird: The Weird Al Yankovic Story, in which he will play “Weird Al” himself (while Evan Rachel Wood plays Madonna), and Bullock will next appear in David Leitch’s Bullet Train, accompanying one of her Lost City co-stars, Brad Pitt.

After the release of Bullet Train, Bullock has mentioned that she wanted to take a break from acting to spend more time with her children. Radcliffe’s future projects, beyond the “Weird Al” film, are still unknown. He previously appeared in the HBO Max documentary, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, with his co-stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
