FIRST OFFICIAL LOOK AT THE LIVE-ACTION THE LAST OF US SERIES
Neil Druckmann, the creator of the game and upcoming HBO series, shared a picture of the upcoming tv series. The picture shows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), doing something gamers had to master during their playthrough: crouching.
Check it out:
If you look closely, Joel and Ellie are hiding from a Clicker. In the game, a Clicker is a mutation of the zombie-like creatures our duo comes across. They are completely blind. However, the loss of vision has greatly boosted their hearing capabilities. One wrong move, and the Clickers will be all over you like children devouring Lunchables. Yeah, it’s that scary.
The plot of the first The Last of Us deals with two characters named Joel and Ellie as they travel across a post-apocalyptic United States. The story is set twenty years after the modern world was ravaged by a virus that turned victims into mindless zombies, called “The Infected.” Joel is a hardened survivor that has been hired from a rebel group called the Fireflies to smuggle a teenage girl named Ellie.
We later find out that Ellie is immune to the virus and Joel is tasked with taking her across the United States to another Fireflies faction in hopes of finding a potential cure for humankind within her DNA. What starts as a small job for Joel becomes a journey that is brutal and heartbreaking. But the loving bond between Joel and Ellie is what keeps them going and surviving.
The cast of The Last of Us includes Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna (Joel’s brother Tommy), Anna Torv as Tess, Merle Dandridge as Marlene, Nick Offerman as Bill, and Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah. The first season of the show was written by Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and Druckmann. The TV series will have elements of both games, and it’ll also take some liberties with the storytelling. Mazin has also confirmed that filming for season one has wrapped up.
Are you excited to watch these 10 episodes? I really hope they do an amazing job with it. I don’t mind them taking liberties with certain storylines if it makes sense. I do trust Druckmann so I will wait and see. Make sure you’re following our social media pages so you don’t miss any upcoming exclusives we might have!
