KingOhger Ohger Calibur Toy Reveals Morph Sequence & Awesome Features

KingOhger

The KingOhger Ohger Calibur has been revealed, with the first images and preview released for the Changer of the 47th Sentai series. The Ohger Calibur sword will be the main transformation device of all 5 Rangers, which will also be the team’s main weapon. The previews and images also showcase how the Ranger sequence will work to change into the Ranger form, use special attacks, and call the Shugods. Previews were also released for other roleplay items for the series, including the transformable shield, Kings Weapon, and the belt buckle.

Ohsama Sentai KingOhger will feature an insect motif Ranger team, who will be using a Sword as the main Changer for the series. Changers from a Sentai series are usually renamed Morphers when adapted into a Power Rangers series, with some teams given different or original designs. The Super Sentai franchise has focused Changer designs to be weapon-based due to popularity, which means they will least likely create concepts for wrist/phone-based devices. The KingOhger series will also be without an item gimmick, which is seen in shows such as Lupinranger VS Patoranger, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, and Avataro Sentai Donbrothers.

The Ohger Calibur will include 5 interactive switches that are uniquely activated, which represent each of the 5 KingOhger Rangers. From left to right, this includes a Black Bee switch to push, a Blue Dragonfly switch to turn, a Red Stag switch to pull, a Purple Butterfly switch to hit down, and a Yellow Mantis switch to hook down. The Changer has light-up features and sounds for each color and switch used, which extends up the whole Sword blade. The transformation activation requires the selected Ranger Switch to be pressed, then by matching the colors that appear on the sword 5 times, the transformation sounds to Ranger activate.

Once in Ranger form, the trigger on the hilt can be pressed for action sounds, which light up the sword depending on the Ranger the user becomes. The Ohger Calibur also includes a charge attack, summon Shugod function, and a Gattai transformation function, which are also activated differently. The charge attack is activated by holding the hilt trigger and then pulling a Ranger trigger three times. The Shugods function requires the Red Stag Trigger to be held up then either pull each trigger for corresponding Shugod sounds or pull the hilt trigger for combining for the main Robo, King-Ohja.

The effects on the Sword are so addictive and will make each function so enjoyable to play with. The Sword functions much like the reaction-based, Bop-It toy, and the unique sound played for each Ranger trigger adds extra hype and power. The lighting up of the Sword is an amazing feature that fans will love to activate, with the added excitement of matching the right trigger to the color that comes up. It will be so exciting to try out this new Changer for the series, especially to find out what the Rangers need to use for their transformation.

A sneak preview of the other items released for the first wave of roleplay items has been revealed. This includes the Kings weapon, which is a shield used by the 5 Rangers and can form 5 unique weapons for each member. The belt buckle of the team has also been revealed for release, which will also be able to become a phone when removed. The Kings Weapon will also be able to combine with the Ohger Calibur as revealed in recently released images. The Kings Weapon will also have a button for a finisher attack sound effect. Here are the upcoming releases for both roleplay toys and the set, which includes all 3 roleplay toys.

The Kings Weapon is significantly smaller than the toys, which is a shame considering the teased size in the live-action series. It will still be an interesting toy to play with and experience since it can become a great sword, scythe, gun, bow, and claw. There appear to be many buttons on the phone belt buckle, which might be linked to lines from the cast and the other Shugods in the series. It will be interesting to find out what functions might be included with the release and how they will work in the show.

All the functions for the Ohger Calibur may not have been revealed yet, but it will be fun to find out if there are hidden features for the toy in the future. The main question fans may be wondering is what the additional Ranger of the series might use in future episodes. This could be a Sword like the rest of the team but may also be something different entirely to compliment the different aesthetic. Fans will have to wait to see what the series has planned for the later additions.

Ohsama Sentai KingOhger Ohger Calibur will be released on March 4 in Japan, with the series premiere of the 47th Sentai on March 5. The release date for the other roleplay toys for the series has yet to be announced, but more details will follow soon. Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
