Seth Rollins Explains Why He Hates CM Punk And Logan Paul

WWE Seth Rollins

WWE Superstar Seth Rollins recently explained why he dislikes CM Punk and Logan Paul during a recent interview with Covino & Rich on FOX Sports Radio. Rollins recently got a lot of attention after he revealed he doesn’t want Punk back in WWE and called him a “cancer.”

CM Punk is one of the most polarizing figures in pro wrestling today. He at times has been a difficult person to work with, but back in September 2022 he reportedly got into a physical fight with the AEW executive vice presidents (Matt & Nick Jackson and Kenny Omega).  After the incident took place, Punk, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega were all suspended.

Since then Omega and The Young Bucks have returned, but Punk has not been seen in AEW. The two reasons for this are that Punk suffered an injury that required surgery, and his future with AEW appears to be up in the air. There have been unconfirmed rumors that Punk is negotiating a buyout of the remainder of his AEW contract (via F4WOnline.com). Fans have both supported Punk and rejected him following the incident. The question looming is where would he go if he leaves AEW.

If Punk were to officially leave AEW, one place he potentially could go is WWE, but Rollins has made it very clear he doesn’t want him back in WWE.  A couple of weeks ago, during a WWE 2K23 Royal Rumble weekend hands-on event, Rollins told Nick Hausman with Wrestling Inc. that he doesn’t want Punk back in WWE and called him a “cancer” after Hausman asked Rollins about Punk possibly returning to WWE. Seth Rollins responded with the following:

“Phil [Brooks, CM Punk], stay away. Stay away, you cancer. Get away from me forever. I don’t like Phil. He’s a jerk. Oh, did we just figure that out? We figured it out over there [in AEW], we knew it over here. I don’t want him back. Go do something else.”

Sometimes it is hard to tell what is real and what is kayfabe when a wrestler is conducting an interview. This is especially true when a heel like Seth Rollins is speaking in public. It doesn’t help when the conversation immediately moved on, and there is no additional context from the aforementioned comments.

However, we have finally gotten a little more information on what Rollins thinks of Punk, and he apparently feels the same about WWE talent and YouTuber Logan Paul. While a guest on Fox Sports Radio‘s Covino & Rich, he discussed why he dislikes the pair and what they have in common. Seth Rollins stated as follows:

“Look the bottom line is it’s the same thing as with Logan Paul, Punk and Logan Paul are two different personalities but they’re both as selfish as it come. If you’re not gonna help, then I don’t want you to be a part of our industry. I don’t want you to be a part of our company and that’s all there is to that.”

We have another example of the line between real and kayfabe being blurred.  Rumors have circulated that Logan Paul vs. Seth Rollins is a matchup WWE wants to put together for WrestleMania. His comments on Paul seem to point in that direction.

However, Seth Rollins’ comments on Punk seem to be exactly how he feels about him. The former WWE Champion went deeper into why he dislikes Punk, but also discussed why those feelings are very conflicting for him. He added:

“I’ll end it on a positive note with him, that guy has given my career so much that it pains me to have to say bad things about him because he helped me out, he really did. He’s been a good guy to me for a lot of my career, but for whatever reason, the past maybe six or seven years, he’s in a different headspace and we’re not on the same page.

“To see what he’s done and taken and taken and taken and it’s always been about him? I’m just not a fan, I’m not a fan. There’s a place for him man, he’s got a lot to give I just wish his head was in the right spot.”

CM PUNK DRAWS A LOT OF MONEY & INTEREST TO WRESTLING

Punk is one of the biggest names and top draws in pro wrestling. If he is released from his AEW contract and wants to continue wrestling, WWE would be dumb not to at least consider it. However, Triple H and Punk have a long history of not seeing eye to eye and not liking one another. So that makes Punk potentially returning to WWE less likely.

Maybe a more professional environment would prevent that kind of behavior. AEW has had a few physical altercations backstage in the past, but has Punk learned his lesson? If Punk returns to wrestling, it would be very interesting to see how the locker room reacts to him in both WWE and AEW.

Do you think Rollins’ comments on Logan Paul are real or just setting up a match?  What about his comments on CM Punk? Do you think it is true what Seth Rollins said about Paul and Punk? Was there any part you disagreed with?  Would you like to see Punk return to AEW or WWE? Do you think he would ever come back to WWE?  Would you like to see Rollins vs. Punk? Let us know the number one person you would like to see Punk wrestle if he returns to WWE.
