After multiple delays, the highly anticipated DC comic book superhero film, The Flash, is finally hitting theaters later this year. Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios finally dropped a new teaser poster image for the film, that has a classic Batman vibe to it.

THE FLASH APPEARS TO BE STANDING IN THE BATCAVE IN NEW TEASER POSTER

The image appears to be Ezra Miller’s version of Barry Allen, aka The Flash, standing in what appears to be the Batcave. Looming above him is a giant Bat-symbol. Or maybe it’s the Batcave, but that’s not 100% clear. Either way, Warner Bros. wants to make sure audiences know there will be a classic Gothic Batman style to this film and that Batman will be making an appearance.

The film has already gone through many delays, but it is momentous as this is the first-ever standalone feature film for the iconic DC superhero. Miller reprises his role in the film, which will see the character push past the limits of his superpowers as he encounters an alternate dimension version of Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, seeing Michael Keaton reprise the role for the first time since Batman Returns in 1992.

Besides the upcoming teaser poster reveal, Warner Bros. has also confirmed that fans will finally get to see a trailer reveal for the upcoming film during the Super Bowl LVII this weekend. A new trailer will be revealed during the Big Game event, so it won’t be long now for fans to finally see some footage for this highly-anticipated release.

Fans have been waiting a while to see something for the film. There was that first look teaser trailer released during DC FanDome back in October 2021. Footage of the film was also shown to attendees at the Warner Bros. Showcase during CinemaCon 2022. However, that footage was not revealed to the general public, and the only official footage released was during FanDome.

Not to mention, the film has undergone multiple delays, going from June 2022 all the way now until June 2023. And that’s on top of all the false starts and production delays before director Andy Muschietti came on board the project.

However, that all pales in comparison to the drama that has emerged in the personal life of the film’s star Ezra Miller. For now, things have seemed to calm down in that department. After multiple issues involving allegations of assault, abuse, not to mention charges of harassment and felony burglary, Miller issued an apology for their recent behavior last August. They also pledged to seek treatment for their “complex mental health issues.”

Earlier this year, Miller also accepted a plea deal regarding charges of an unlawful break-in and trespass in Vermont. In 2022, Miller also had two arrests in Hawaii on charges of disorderly conduct and harassment at a karaoke bar.

For now, it appears the brass at DC Studios are happy with Miller seeking help. DC Studios co-head James Gunn showed his support for The Flash last month. In a video posted on his Twitter account, Gunn called the movie “fantastic,” saying that it’s “a fantastic movie that I really love that resets the entire DC Universe.”

Andy Muschietti directs the upcoming comic book film from a script by Christina Hodson and Joby Harold. It stars Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Michael Shannon, Sasha Calle, Kiersey Clemons, Maribel Verdu, and Ron Livingston. DC’s The Flash finally races into theaters on June 16.
