Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania takes us deep into the Quantum Realm, a universe that has brought the rise of Kang the Conqueror. Just like there are people who are on the side of evil, there will always be those who will fight for what is right. According to Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania producer Stephen Boussard, Scott and the gang will eventually meet these new characters who are also fighting against Kang’s ruling in the film.
The Freedom Fighters In Quantumania
During last week’s press conference, Stephen Boussard talked about a group of resistance fighters who are going through their own battle against Kang (Jonathan Majors).
“We meet a group of freedom fighters, of locals, essentially, down there that are at the tip of the spear fighting back. And it was a really fun opportunity to introduce new characters into this franchise going forward.”

This is where we learn about the characters that we will meet in the film: Jentorra played by Katy O’Brian, Quaz played by William Jackson Harper and a phonetic alien called Vebb played by returning cast member, David Dastmalchian.
Who is the Leader: Jentorra
While Vebb and Quaz are new characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jentorra is seen in both comics and in the upcoming Ant-man film. In the comics, Jentorra was only featured in seven comics. She comes from a subatomic planet called K’ai, a post-apocalyptic world that has been inhabited by green-skinned humanoids.
This world was first seen in The Incredible Hulk #140, where Hulk travels to that world often. Jentorra makes her first appearance in the limited series Realm of Kings: Song of Hulk. In this story, she’s a sorcerer’s apprentice and eventually uses her powers to summon Hulk. She hoped that Hulk would return and save their world. She is related to Jarella, the princess of K’ai, who Hulk had a romantic relationship with.
Jentorra’s powers include teleporting living beings across great distances, conjuring blasts of energy and she’s able to use her magical abilities to heal herself or others. While in the comics she was facing Hulk’s son Hiro-Kala, in the film, she will be now facing Kang the Conqueror.
Protecting What’s Theirs
According to Boussard, these characters are serious when it comes to defending their territory in the Quantum Realm. These are characters who will stop at nothing to gain back their freedom and will keep pushing back against everything they face. Even though they are serious characters, Boussard has said that they are very comical.
“It’s absolutely some of the biggest laughs in the movie, and the most fun in the movie I think for sure. And people are gonna really enjoy meeting them.”
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania hits theaters on February 17. Directed by Peyton Reed, written by Jeff Loveness, and Produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, the film stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Jonathan Majors Michelle Pfieffer, Kathryn Newton, Willian Jackson Harper, Michael Douglas, and more!
