TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS FOOTAGE REVEALS THE MAXIMALS MEETING THE AUTOBOTS

The footage from later in the movie appears to show the first encounter between the Autobots and the Maximals. It appears the Maximal leader, Optimus Primal (Ron Perlman), is accosting the human characters, Noah (Anthony Ramos) and Dominique Fishback (Elena), asking them about an important key.

Mirage (Pete Davidson) then arrives, raising his weapon on Primal, and he tells “Donkey Kong” to stay away from his friends. Unfortunately, Mirage is soon taken down by none other than Primal’s fellow maximal Cheetor. Wheeljack then arrives to help, but Wheeljack is attacked by another Maximal Rhinox. Autobot Arcee then trains her weapons on Cheetor, who has cornered Mirage, and Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) finally jumps into the fray to get Primal to stand down during the chaos. Prime then gives Primal a final warning, “I won’t ask a second time,” as tensions rise before the clip cuts out.

The scene looks very reminiscent of Avengers: Endgame when the heroes aboard the Black Order’s ship first encounter the Guardians of the Galaxy and think they are enemies at first.

The Maximals were first introduced in the Beast Wars: Transformers toyline and animated series. The Maximals are the future descendants of the Autobots from many years in the future after the Great War between the Autobots and the Decepticons, which included bringing their war to Earth and involving the human race.

After the theft of the Golden Disk by Megatron and his rogue Predacon group, the Maximals chased the Predacons through space-time, traveling to prehistoric Earth and starting the Beast Wars. In order to survive the Energon-rich planet, the Maximals and Predacons had to take on beast forms for their alt-modes. Much like Maximals are the descendants of Autobots, the Predacons are the far-flung descendants of the Decepticons.

For Rise of the Beasts, there do not appear to be any Predacons. It looks like the Maximals and Autobots will instead be facing a faction of evil Cybertronians called the Terrorcons, who are serving their master Unicron; an evil being that devours planets, and it looks like Earth is his next target. Also, the Autobots encounter the Maximals on Earth in the 1990s, but it appears the Maximals have been hiding on Earth for centuries.

In addition to the new clip, Paramount Pictures revealed a fun new Optimus Prime-themed text-to-speech feature for TikTok users. Fans can use Optimus Prime’s voice for text-to-speech on the Create screen. Then they will need to record or upload a video and type in their desired text.

After that, tap the Text-to-Speech button, and once the panel appears, fans should tap the Optimus Prime icon. After clicking “Next” to post, they will have a video using the one and only Optimus Prime’s voice. You can check out a sample below:
