Power Rangers Going Wild with Hyperforce in Darkest Hour Comic Event
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Recharged Vol. 4 has revealed the upcoming story featured at the start of the 30th-anniversary anniversary comic event, Darkest Hour. The listing on Amazon was shared by @Martian_Ranger who highlighted the plot to the fandom regarding the inclusion of Power Rangers Hyperforce, the Drakkon Rangers, and even the Power Rangers Wild Force team. A huge surprise mentioned is that the Wild Force Rangers are the first to be given the zombified treatment teases as they are described as “cadaverously possessed”, while lined up as foes alongside the Death Ranger and the return of an evil bounty hunter.

A huge mix of characters are also highlighted in the plot including a team of Rangers consisting of Trini, Zac, Kimberly, Tommy, and Aisha, facing against the new Green Ranger, Matt, who has fallen to an evil spell. The Hyperforce Rangers have also been mentioned as a major addition to the story as they help try to fix the timeline broken by the new threats. The story for the upcoming comics will be created by writer Melissa Flores and artist Simona Di Gianfelice (All-New Firefly), along with guest artist Hendry Prasetya creating the new cover for the volume.
“Mistress Vile has won. With control of the Morphin Grid and Dark Specter’s infection spreading throughout all of time and space, the separated and stranded Rangers receive help from the last team they’d expect, but the DRAKKON RANGERS may not be the help they were hoping for… Meanwhile, if relationships at their breaking point weren’t enough chaos for Trini, Zack, Kimberly, and Tommy to contend with, it’ll take a team effort with Aisha to break the vile spell cast on their close friend and the current Green Ranger, Matt.
And with the Death Ranger, the cadaverously possessed Wild Force Rangers, and the return of an evil bounty hunter also in the mix, their Master plan best not fail… or the Rangers may be erased from existence forever–good thing the HyperForce Rangers are also on the scene! In the tradition of Shattered Grid and coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Power Rangers, writer Melissa Flores (Dead Lucky) and artist Simona Di Gianfelice (All-New Firefly) along with guest artist Hendry Prasetya deliver the highly anticipated event that will forever change the Power Rangers universe! Collects Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #111-114.” –
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Recharged Vol. 4 – Story Synopsis from Amazon
This is such a huge reveal as there has yet to be any information regarding the release, which was expected during Power Month this August. It was already revealed that the Hyperforce Rangers and Drakkon Rangers would be part of the upcoming event, but fans weren’t expecting the reveal of the possessed Wild Force Rangers. Wild Force was the 10th anniversary season for Power Rangers so it’s fantastic that they are being included in this huge comic event. There is such a huge list of threats included in the first four issues so it will be scary to imagine what could come next in the issues that follow, especially as the 30th-anniversary anniversary event will last a whole year.
