Their camaraderie off-screen translates into a palpable onscreen chemistry in Resident Evil: Death Island. Despite not performing together simultaneously, their shared experience, talent, and friendship breathe life into their characters, creating a captivating narrative that fans of the franchise will undoubtedly appreciate. Learn how they were able to bring the chemistry even when they shot their lines separately.

Matthew Mercer: Unfortunately, we had to record separately I think based on the nature of the production and the process of like motion capture to CG to actually recording the dialogue. But we got to, depending on the order of our recording, got to hear each other’s performances and play all of them at different times, which was fun. Group records are a lot of fun, but this production didn’t allow for it. It is now exciting to go back and now watch the whole film together.

Stephanie Panisello: Yeah. Well, I sadly was the first one to lay down the audio, so I didn’t get to hear everybody. So yeah, I’m so excited though, [and] it doesn’t mean we weren’t all stoked and we were all just like, ‘Hey, did you see that scene? Are you super excited about it? Do you get it?’ ‘Me too! That’s so cool!’ A lot of text flew.

Nicole Tompkins: Yeah. I mean, we all, I think know each other, are aware of each other, have known each other in different ways throughout this industry, these projects, that sort of thing. Yeah, it’s our job to get along sometimes and thankfully we didn’t have to work very hard.

Stephanie Panisello: We did not. We love tea.

Nicole Tompkins: Sometimes that’s all it takes.

Professional Nerd | Amateur Human | Creative/Content Director The best way to describe Kevin Fenix is the kid you never tell what the buttons do in video games so you have a chance to win. Being 6’ 4” and Asian, he never really fit in, so he got comfortable standing out. Not only is it easy to find him in crowds, he dabbles in the culinary arts, does a little stand up and improv, and can honestly say Spider-Man is the Jesus-like influence of his life. Kevin Fenix loves dogs, movies, television, comics, comedy, and to shoot people… with video.
