Daredevil: Born Again fans are excited for the upcoming Disney+ series. Charlie Cox, and Vincent D’Onofrio will be returning as Matt Murdock/ Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/ Kingpin. The series was originally set for release in 2024 but with the strikes that have been going on for the past few months, the studio is rumored to push the series to early 2025. Since it was first announced, there have been many cast reports on those who will be making an appearance in the series. Just recently, it was just revealed that a new character will be working close to Vincent D’Onofrio’s character.
MICHAEL GANDOLFINI’S ROLE REVEALED

According to CanWeGetToast on X, it was revealed that Gandolfini’s role was secretly revealed by Marvel’s Copyright page. He is set to play a character named Daniel Blade who in the series, he will be Mayor Fisk’s Director of Communications. There has been no other word if he will play a deeper role in Fisk’s organization.

WHO IS DANIEL BLADE? Is it You Butch?
Even though the character doesn’t entirely exist in the comics, there is a possibility that the character will be the MCU’s take on a familiar character. In the comics, there’s a character named Butch. He’s a gangster and in the comics, he is friends with Mike Murdock, who is Matt’s long-lost brother. Their friendship began as children and they remained friends where Butch became an accomplice in various scams with Murdock. As Butch git older, he became a henchman of the Owl where he killed men of the Libris crime family just to prove who was in charge of the New York underworld.

Butch eventually leaves the Owl’s gang and later on, it was revealed that Butch believed himself to be the son of Wilson Fisk, who had an affair with his mother. The character eventually became the boss of hELL’S Kitchen by Izzy Libris, Burch spoke to Mike about the next step in becoming the new Kingpin as Wilson Fisk’s natural son.
Before Gandolfini’s role was revealed, when it was announced that the actor was going to be part of the series, fans speculated that he will be portraying Butch. Since there are no other details of Daniel Blade’s backstory, fans will have to wait for more details as we get closer to a release date.
DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN SYNOPSIS
According to the U.S Copyright Office, the newly released synopsis shows that both Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk will try to leave their respective alter-egos behind. The synopsis reads:
“Marvel Studios presents “Daredevil” in which longtime rivals Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) try to leave behind their darker alter-egos to serve the people of New York only to have their pasts catch up to them. In the first episode of the series, we are reintroduced by the world of Daredevil.”

Even though some details have been under wraps, Charlie Cox has spoken about how the character is the same as the Netflix iteration but the series itself will make some changes. “The show is going to be very, very different from the Netflix show, and it’s so exciting because what we’re doing is quite something. I think it’s something that people are not going to expect.”
The first time fans got to see the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen take on a Disney+ series was in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Fans were not amused by the series and there have been worries about how Disney will “ruin” the new Daredevil reboot. As of right now, there are small details of what the series will be about but from what many fans have said, the series will take inspiration from the 2017-2018 comic book arc, Mayor Fisk.
