BOOM! Studios’ Ranger Academy Issue #4 teases the first trial as the first-year cadets face their first challenge to become Rangers. The latest issue from Boom! Studios finally features the long-awaited test for Sage and her fellow students, while also teasing the big mysteries featured in the previous releases. The covers and variants for the 4th Issue have been revealed, along with a preview highlighting Sage’s major test. The release is also followed by the first volume of the latest series featured in the Power Rangers universe.

Ranger Academy takes the Ranger fandom into a whole new part of the universe as Sage enters the institute that trains future Power Rangers. The Boom! Studios comic series written by Maria Ingrande Mora and features art by Jo Mi-Gyeong and Fabiana Mascolo.
The latest issue recently teased two massive mysteries at the heart of the story as Sage discovers her Father was once a student of the Academy. As Sage studies and works on her resolve to be a Ranger, she also encounters a mysterious abandoned Green Campus featured in Ranger Academy #3. The first volume previously leaked a description, teasing the mystery that fans have now discovered.
Ranger Academy #4 Starts the 1st Year’s First Trial
If you had a chance to join the Power Rangers, would you? Maria Ingrande Mora (The Immeasurable Depth of You), artist Jo Mi-Gyeong (Eve: Children of the Moon), colorist Fabiana Mascolo (Alice Ever After), and letterer Ed Dukeshire (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) follow 13-year-old Sage as she continues to ponder that very question in this first look from Ranger Academy #4!
This is it. The big test. Sage will need to successfully perform her First Morph, but don’t worry–it will only take all of her skills while surviving on a hostile planet known only as CHROMIA! It will take more than just her skills though, with teamwork being essential to reach the peak and acquire the means of Morphin time. But when the class bully runs into some trouble on the way, will Sage risk her test results to save him, or leave him behind? In this game-changing issue, fans are not going to want to miss out on the exclusive spoiler variant cover by Goñi Montes, featuring a surprise so big that we can’t show you the art!
Ranger Academy #4 features a main cover by Miguel Mercado (Magic) with variants by series artist Jo Mi-Gyeong, Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), and Yejin Park (Once & Future).
This is such a massive moment for the new comic series as a new event will feature in the Power Rangers universe. There are so many mysteries involved with Sage’s Father and it will be interesting to see if all the Cadets will Morph. Although previous covers have teased the colors of Sage, Theo, and Lindy, it will be interesting to discover what their Ranger colors might be.

Listings for a comic variant have also spoiled the reveal of a Green Ranger, which could be linked to the story. It will be interesting to discover if a character is placed in an unlisted campus, so the upcoming issue will be extremely thrilling to read.
