FX and Hulu have taken the grand stage of Super Bowl XVIII to premiere a captivating 30-second commercial for their much-anticipated series, Shōgun. The Epic Tale of Power and Intrigue

Shōgun is an original adaptation of James Clavell’s bestselling novel, set against the tumultuous backdrop of Japan in the year 1600, at the onset of a civil war that would define a century. The series stars producer Hiroyuki Sanada as “Lord Yoshii Toranaga,” a warlord embroiled in a deadly struggle for power against his enemies on the Council of Regents. The arrival of a mysterious European ship and its English pilot, “John Blackthorne” (Cosmo Jarvis), brings secrets that could shift the balance of power in Toranaga’s favor, setting off a chain of events that intertwine the fates of Toranaga, Blackthorne, and their translator, “Toda Mariko” (Anna Sawai), a Christian noblewoman caught between her faith, her duty, and her heart.
