Netflix is bringing a new comedy special for Adam Sandler to the streaming service. The upcoming special will be a follow-up to his 2018 Emmy-nominated Netflix special, 100% Fresh. Netflix announced the news on the upcoming special earlier this week.

The special will see Sandler re-team with his Uncut Gems director Josh Safdie, who co-directed the award-winning film with Benny Safdie. The upcoming deal continues Sandler’s long, illustrious partnership with the streamer. Most recently, Sandler starred in the critically acclaimed CGI-animated Netflix original movie, Leo.
ADAM SANDLER SET FOR NEW NETFLIX COMEDY SPECIAL
Some of Sandler’s other original Netflix comedies include You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah, Hustle, Murder Mystery, Murder Mystery 2, Hubie Halloween, Sandy Wexler, The Week Of, The Do-Over and The Ridiculous 6. Additionally, Happy Madison has produced Father of the Year, The Wrong Missy, and The Out-laws.
Sandler’s films have crossed over a combined $3 billion, including the hit films Grown Ups, You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Billy Madison, Big Daddy, and The Waterboy. Sandler’s next project for Netflix is Spaceman, which is due out on March 1. The film will receive its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
Sandler’s found a great deal of success through Netflix in recent years, so doing his second comedy special with the streamer makes sense. After a successful run as a stand-up comic and cast member of Saturday Night Live, he founded his own Happy Madison Productions where he starred, produced, and wrote a number of hit films.
Adam Sandler working on a new comedy special sounds like an exciting prospect. He’s had his hits and misses over the years. However, his two latest pictures, Leo and You Are So Not Invited to My Bar Mitzvah, actually did very well with critics, rating 82% and 91% respectively. His performance in Uncut Gems also earned him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead.
Adam Sandler’s Leo and 100% Fresh are streaming now on Netflix. Sandler’s next comedy special will be available exclusively on Netflix at a later date. It does not yet have an official title or release date.
