John Cena’s version of DC Comics’ Peacemaker officially joins the fight to save Earthrealm in Mortal Kombat 1. Starting today, Mar. 6, Peacemaker is available now as a wide release to download and play as the patriotic badass through the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack. However, those on the fence about spending money on him or the game, in general, will be able to play the game during the free trial period.

The free trial weekend will allow players to download Mortal Kombat 1 and have access to the first two chapters of the Story Mode, all online and local multiplayer modes, and Johnny Cage’s Mansion tutorial Mesa in Invasions mode. Players will also have access to all the base roster of playable characters. However, this will exclude Shang Tsung, Havik, and Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack characters.

The free trial period will take place from Thursday, Mar. 7, at 9 a.m. PST through Sunday, Mar. 10 11:59 p.m. PST. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. That is plenty of time to decide if you can handle the intense Kombat of the Mortal Kombat franchise.

JOHN CENA AS PEACEMAKER NOW AVAILABLE FOR MORTAL KOMBAT 1 AHEAD OF FREE TRIAL WEEKEND

This is not the Peacemaker you know from the comics. This is the version from the The Suicide Squad movie and the Peacemaker show on Max. Peacemaker was portrayed by John Cena who added his flair to the character. Cena reprises his role and lends his voice to the new Mortal Kombat 1 character.

Peacemaker is not your average DC hero. He is on the extreme end of everything he does. Whatever he does he does it to the max and he will stop at nothing to achieve his ultimate goal of peace. Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios describe the character as the following:

“Christopher Smith, the Peacemaker, cherishes peace with all his heart. So much so, that he will kill anyone and everyone necessary to get it. That is why he molded himself into an unstoppable soldier. Peacemaker believes himself as the greatest expert in weapons and warfare.

But Peacemaker’s heroism masks a troubled soul. Raised by an abusive father, Peacemaker is an extreme loner. Only recently, as a member of the secret team assembled by A.R.G.U.S. for “Project Butterfly”, has he learned to trust and rely on others. They became the family he never had. Now thrust into the Mortal Kombat universe, Peacemaker has vowed to bring peace to the realms. He won’t stop until he finishes the mission.”

Cena gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at his portrayal of Peacemaker and why he fits in perfectly into Mortal Kombat 1 in the new trailer. Fans get to see that this Peacemaker is the same Peacemaker we know and love from the movie and series. He is a trash-talking, abrasive, powerhouse looking to achieve his goal of bringing peace to the Mortal Kombat Universe.

The trailer also shows Peacemaker’s interactions and fights with other characters. This was mostly shown against Johnny Cage who is very similar to Peacemaker. However, instead of looking for peace, Cage will stop at nothing to rekindle his film career.

Peacemaker is just the newest DLC character to join the already-stacked Mortal Kombat 1 roster. Through the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack players will be able to as Jean-Claude Van Damme with a Johnny Cage skin and play as Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda Takahashi. Peacemaker won’t even be the only comic book character in the game. Omni-Man from Invincible and Homelander from The Boys will also join Peacemaker on the roster.

If the trial period entices you enough to purchase the game, it’s currently available in multiple editions and platforms. The standard edition for PlayStation 5 can be purchased as low as $58.99 or $59.99 at most online or brick-and-mortar retailers. The Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack will cost an additional $39.99, but you can’t really put a price on peace.
