Back for its second year, Netflix returns with its wildly successful comedy festival, Netflix is a Joke, that spans over 11 days. This time around, the streaming guru is introducing Outside Joke, a series of shows taking place at Hollywood Palladium on the weekends (May 3rd-5th and 10th-12th). The events are said to feature live stand-ups, surprise appearances, food, games, merchandise for sale, and much more. They even mention experiencing your favorite Netflix shows in real life.
The line-up includes Jim Jeffries, Leslie Jones, Marc Rebillet, Tim Dillon, Trixie Mattel, the casts and hosts of Love if Blind, That 90’s Show, Selling Sunset, The Circle, and many more. There will even be a Roast Battle competition with Jeff Ross as well as drag brunches, Netflix trivia, and live podcasts. Tickets can be purchased at NetflixIsAJokeFest.com/Outside-Joke.

The general festival which runs from May 1st-12th has been a huge attraction for the platform as they have locked in pretty much every big-name comedian under the sun. From Matt Rife to Kevin Hart, David Letterman to John Mulaney, there is someone who appeals to everyone’s humor. Comedians will take over Los Angeles for 12 days, stepping into over 35 venues.
What is perhaps even more of a win for Netflix is that they can double-dip and film these shows to serve as comedy specials throughout the year. Over the years, stand-up comedy was often labeled as a dying form of entertainment as it was being dominated by only 3-4 big names. Since comedy specials have been on the rise again, many up-and-coming comics have found much success via social media, leading them to land their very own hour-and-a-half slot on Netflix.
The GOAT Is Set To Get The Roast Treatment at Netflix Is a Joke Fest
One of the bigger attractions this year isn’t a stand-up show; in fact, it’s the taping of the Roast of Tom Brady. Typically airing on Comedy Central, the last celebrity to get the roast treatment was Alec Baldwin in 2019.
No official word on who the panel of roasters will be, but we can only imagine some big-name athletes would be lined up to take a stab at Brady’s long and successful career (I predict a tuck rule joke to be thrown in). I think it’s safe to assume Eli Manning would make a great roast master, as he’s the only one to defeat the GOATed quarterback (twice!).
