BLACK MIRROR Season 7 Returns to Netflix in 2025

'BLACK MIRROR' Season 7 is set to release in 2025 with fan-favorite episode 'USS Callister' making its return to the streaming platform.

Black Mirror Season 7 and “USS Callister,” will be making their return to Netflix in 2025. The sixth season was released in June 2023 and though it hasn’t been a year since it was released on the streaming platform, Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series is already in production on six brand new episodes for the seventh season.

Brooker and the Black Mirror creative team have been keeping the episodes locked behind closed doors, it has been teased that one of the episodes will be a sequel to the now fan-favorite classic Season 4 opener, “USS Callister.”

WELCOME ABOARD TO THE USS CALLISTER

The high-profile episode starred Jesse Plemons (Killers of the Flower Moon) as Robert Daly, a brilliant but troubled programmer who co-founded a popular online game. Even though he was one of the main reasons why the game was so popular, he didn’t get much recognition. Unhappy with the lack of recognition at his gaming company, Robert created a simulated reality where he gave himself the role of a Captain Kirk-like figure aboard a starship where he also led a crew that was based on his real-life co-workers.

Everything sounds pretty fine but since this was a Black Mirror episode, things took an unexpected and sinister turn. Daley decides to bring in a newly hired Nanette Cole into his game. When she notices how Daly was more of a villainous dictator, she encourages the other clones to revolt against him.

In the end, the crew escapes which results in locking Daly in his own game, rendering him physically unable to exit the game as it is deleted around him. In the real world, Daly is sitting motionless. Captain Robert Daly may have died in the original episode, but for the crew of the USS Callister, this is just the beginning of their problems.

Each Black Mirror season is different with dark stories that always leave viewers confused and a bit terrified. Last season, Joan is Awful, and Beyond the Sea became a fan favorite for viewers. Both episodes showed alternative realities where things began to turn dark quickly.
