One of the shining aspects of the Madame Web home media edition is its collection of special features that truly showcase the fun and craftsmanship behind the scenes. The gag reel, in particular, is a gem, underscoring the best part of the production—the undeniable chemistry among the cast. Scenes of laughter, missed cues, and spontaneous moments reveal a lighter side of the thriller, making it a delightful watch for fans who appreciate the human element of filmmaking.

Additional features like Easter Eggs, Oracle Of The Page, Fight Like A Spider, Future Vision, and Casting The Web dive deeper into the lore of Madame Web, the choreography of its action scenes, and the foresight that went into the film’s casting. A lone deleted scene offers a glimpse of what might have been, but does not even begin to beg the question of why it was deleted.
No Swings, Still Missed
However, not everything is rosy in this home media release. The lack of a commentary track is a notable omission, especially for a film rich with comic book heritage and a distinct directorial vision by SJ Clarkson. Commentary tracks often serve as an aural director’s cut, offering insights and anecdotes that enhance the viewing experience. The absence here is a missed opportunity to deepen the audience’s appreciation and understanding of the creative decisions that shaped the film. Or give the cast a chance to be honest about the film.

Moreover, while the special features are enjoyable, there’s nothing particularly groundbreaking that makes this release stand out. Fans might find themselves longing for an unseen surprise or an exclusive feature that elevates the home media edition beyond the standard fare. This release lacks that ‘wow’ factor that can turn a typical home viewing into a memorable event.
Standard and Steelcase Editions – A Physical Question
The home media package for Madame Web comes in various formats including DVD, Blu-Ray, 4K UHD, digital, and Limited-Edition Steelbook., each offering a digital code for the movie and bonus materials, making it a versatile pick for physical collectors. The packaging is largely just reused key art and provides nothing new or unique from the images used to promote the film previously.

However, for collectors, the availability of a Steelcase edition adds a bit of flair to the physical package. However, given its appeal, it would fall into my $10 or less rule. A lot of times I’m willing to spend up to what I spent on a premium ticket to purchase a film on home media, but I am willing to buy lesser-loved films if it’s $10 or less. While I won’t go as far as to say that I liked the film, there was a lot I did enjoy, and this could be a fun random, live roast, or influenced/sobriety-challenged watch with the right group of people.
To Web or Not to Web?
The home media release of Madame Web delivers a solid, if not better than decent, array of features that will certainly enhance your appreciation of the film’s production and its ensemble cast. While the lack of innovative features and a commentary track might leave some fans wanting, the available content still manages to celebrate the artistry and fun of filmmaking.
If you’re a fan of the film or a collector of Marvel and its extended cinematic entries, or a Marvel completionist, this edition is worth considering, especially if you find joy in gag reels and behind-the-scenes peeks. However, keep expectations in check and your collector’s edition budget tight; this web isn’t exactly the kind that would make audiences love Wilbur if you catch my drift.
