Tiffany Stratton started out as a gymnast until one day she decided to give wrestling a shot. She was recently on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, and she revealed how her life changed when she saw Charlotte Flair wrestle and who began training her. The former NXT Women’s Champion stated the following:
“One day I was flipping through the channels and I saw Charlotte Flair on SmackDown, and I was immediately like ‘who is this woman? She’s jacked. She’s blonde. She looks amazing and she’s doing all these cool flips.’ Immediately I was just drawn to it so I went to my nearest wrestling school and I signed up for classes. However, my mom actually had a contact who knew Greg Gagne, who is a wrestling legend. He’s been in the wrestling business for a long time. He agreed to train me and get me a tryout with WWE.”

Stratton admitted that Gagne taught her everything she needed to know to excel at her WWE tryout. According to Stratton it only took about a week for WWE to sign her after her tryout. Since joining WWE, Stratton has proven herself as a solid competitor and someone WWE can get behind. She is a former NXT Women’s champion. She won the championship after Indi Hartwell vacated the championship.
Tiffany Stratton Recalls Her Feud With Becky Lynch
During Tiffany Stratton’s championship reign she came into conflict with one of the top women on the main roster, Becky Lynch. The two women began feuding and Lynch was able to defeat Stratton for the championship. Eventually, their feud ended in an Extreme Rules match where Lynch once again defeated Stratton.
During her matches with Becky Lynch, Tiffany Stratton proved to the WWE Universe hat she can hold her own against someone from the main roster. Stratton already faced The Man Becky Lynch which was probably a dream match for her. She listed who else she wants to face on the main roster. She continued:
“Obviously, I’m going to have to go with Charlotte Flair. She is the reason why I got into wrestling. She’s my inspiration. I really look up to her, but also Bianca Belair. I think me versus Charlotte versus Bianca would be such a cool matchup. I feel like we all kind of have similar styles in the ring, so I’m really looking forward to those two, for sure.”

Stratton Is Looking for a Major Storyline on SmackDown
Stratton was asked who she thinks the best woman on the roster is and she immediately said Flair and Lynch. She has already faced one of those two so Flair has a target on her back and only a matter of time before it’s Tiffy Time for Flair.

In February, Stratton was called up to the main roster on the SmackDown brand. Since debuting she has competed in the Elimination Chamber match and shown she is right at home on the main roster. We are just entering the era of Tiffy Time so the future is still murky. However, Stratton laid out some of her goals during her time in WWE. She told Van Vliet:
“I would love to have some sort of storyline on SmackDown. Obviously I have my eyes set on Money in the Bank. I want a pink briefcase and I want to rhinestone it. Then obviously I want to win a championship one day and I think that’s in my future this year.”

Stratton is currently undefeated on the main roster. That is a feat usually reserved for big wrestlers like Nia Jax and destroyers like Asuka. Stratton having an undefeated streak speaks volumes for WWE’s plans for her. WWE sees her as a future star and we may be seeing the first step in that stardom very soon.
On Saturday, May 4 at WWE Backlash France, Tiffany Stratton will face off against WWE Women’s Champion Bayley and Naomi for the championship in a Triple Threat match. This may be Stratton’s time to shine and walk out as the new champion.
Were you surprised to hear that Tiffany Stratton didn’t grow up wanting to wrestle based on how quickly she has picked it up? Do you think it is Tiff Time yet and she will win the WWE Women’s Championship at Backlash? Let us know on social media some other dream opponents you want to see her face.
