TNA star and Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace and former AEW star Ethan Page made surprise appearances on last night’s weekly WWE NXT television program. The Triple H Era of WWE is full of surprises and it is impossible to guess what will happen next, especially with how often he is willing to open the so-called “forbidden door” to TNA.

The latest example happened on this week’s NXT. NXT General Manager Ava Raine announced a surprise challenger to Roxanne Perez’s NXT Women’s Championship at next month’s NXT Battleground premium live event. Ava Raine dropped a huge bombshell, revealing none other than the TNA Knockouts division champion.
Ava Raine announced Jordynne Grace as Roxanne Perez’s opponent. The two women met in the middle of the ring and neither of them showed any sign of fear. Grace had this to say to Perez. Grace showed her respect to Perez as a champion and said she wanted to find out which champion built the stronger foundation at NXT Battleground. You can check out a video of Grace’s surprise NXT debut below:
Jordynne Grace Previously Made Her WWE Debut at the Royal Rumble
This is not the first time the WWE Universe has seen Jordynne Grace. She appeared in the women’s Royal Rumble match earlier in January and put in a strong showing at the premium live event. Bianca Belair eventually eliminated her. Also, Grace is the current TNA Knockouts champion and is in her third reign with the belt. Her latest reign began in January when she defeated current WWE star Naomi who was going by Trinity at the time. Naomi later returned to WWE at the same Royal Rumble event.
Perez and Grace will meet at NXT Battleground Las Vegas on June 9. This match was just made for the NXT Women’s Championship. With WWE seemingly very comfortable working with TNA this could be the first step in some kind of invasion angle with more champions crossing over. Perez may want to get some advice from Naomi before her match with Grace because it is going to be a very tough match.
As if Grace coming over to WWE again wasn’t exciting enough. This week’s NXT saw the debut of another AEW star making his way to WWE. After Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans defeated Gallus, Williams was asked if he was behind the mysterious attacks on Oro Mensah and Noam Dar. However, before he could answer he was attacked by former AEW star Ethan Page.
Ethan Page Makes His WWE NXT Debut
Page then revealed that he was the one who took out Mensah and Dar. He then hip-attacked Williams while he was sitting against the turnbuckle. The segment ended with Page holding up the NXT Championship. This perhaps means that Page will be challenging Williams for the championship at Battleground.
Page made a name for himself in TNA/IMPACT winning the Impact World Tag Team Championships twice with Josh Alexander. He then made his way to AEW in 2021 and signed a three-year deal with the promotion.
While in AEW he had some decent mid-level feuds like his feud with Darby Allin and Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. Later on, he also challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship in a losing effort. He eventually moved over to Ring of Honor and did well there, but he stopped making appearances for the promotion earlier in February.
