Flipline Studios has announced the studio’s upcoming installment for their Papa Louie series, Papa’s Paleteria to Go! The upcoming mobile game is currently in the works and due out later on for iOS.
The Papa Louie series began on November 9, 2006, with the platformer Papa Louie: When Pizzas Attack! The first restaurant time management game, Papa’s Pizzeria, was released on August 7, 2007, with 13 more entries, including the following:

Ever since the discontinuation of Flash, Flipline Studios has been making new entries for their Papa Louie restaurant games for mobile. On March 2, 2021, they released their first new installment without a web version, Papa’s Mocharia to Go! Following that was Papa’s Cluckeria to Go!, released on February 22, 2022. On March 31, 2023, the series made a return to the computer with Papa’s Freezeria Deluxe on Steam. It’s great news to see that the series is continuing with Papa’s Paleteria To Go!
Have a Palate for Paletas in Papa’s Paleteria To Go!
In the new entry, Papa’s Paleteria To Go!, the main food item of the restaurant is paletas. Paletas are Mexican ice pops that can be milk- or water-based, often with a fruit flavor. Although superficially similar to popsicles, paletas use natural, fresh ingredients and eschew artificial dyes and processed additives. The exact origins of the frozen sweet are unclear, but several ice cream makers from Mexico got inspiration from American frozen treats and introduced the paleta upon returning to their homeland.
From April 17, 2023 to June 8, 2023, Flipline ran their annual tournament, Papa’s Next Chefs, to determine who will be the chefs for the upcoming restaurant. The tournament has four divisions, named after ingredients featured in various games; this year consisted of the Matcha, Aprajita, HIbiscus, and Lavender Divisions, named after powders from Papa’s Mocharia to Go! The winners were Hacky Zak and Liezel, who debuted in Papa’s Donuteria and Papa’s Pancakeria to Go! respectively.
According to his bio, Hacky Zak is a carefree, playful individual previously employed at Powder Point’s amusement park. Although he made many friends with all the workers, he rarely worked and instead spent his days hanging around the park while getting free snacks from the concession stand. His name is a pun on Hacky Sack, and his favorite food is mango.
For Liezel, she grew up in the rural town of Scrapple Hill. Although she was a talented football player in her freshman year, she had trouble fitting in with the other boys in high school and grew depressed. After moving to Tastyville post-graduation, she made a lot of like-minded friends and transitioned to a happier life as a woman. She marks as the series’ first official transgender character, making her the first LGBT character to win a Papa’s Next Chefs tournament in the year of her debut. Her favorite food is spumoni.
As with the previous To Go! games, Papa’s Paleteria will be exclusively an app without a desktop version. The Papa Louie apps are available on iOS and Android.
