The trailer is full of action set pieces fans of the series have always returned for. The trailer shows off the new battle royale Warzone map “Rebirth Island,” a Soviet base shut down by the CIA in 1968. The new map also has ties to Cold War protagonist Russell Adler where he tortured and interrogated Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin. Kuzmin was a KGB chemical weapons expert at Rebirth Island before his meeting with Adler that resulted in his loss in an eye and being sent to the Gulag by the Soviet leaders. Later being recruited by Perseus, the main antagonist of Cold War’s intensive campaign.

Stitch is only one of three new operators being added to Black Ops Cold War in its first season joining him is, Bulldozer, a US Marine hostage rescue expert and Zeyna a heavy weapons specialist and gear-head.

New weapons are also coming with Black Ops Cold War’s first season. There are five new weapons coming to Black Ops Cold War including MAC 10, a full auto sub machine gun with a high fire rate and quick movement speed thanks to its small form factor. Groza, a fast handling, high fire rate and exceptional damage range to definitely give AR fans something to brag about. The Street sweeper, a large ammo capacity and full auto shotgun to clear out multiple enemies from their nests. Melee weapons are also getting new additions, in the form of Sledgehammer, a heavy and powerful sledgehammer to make for some embarrassing deaths. Wakizashi, is a samurai Katana for lightweight and powerful executions.

The new season also brings back fan favorite game modes such as Gunfight 2v2 from last year’s Modern Warfare where you and a friend face off against another team in a fast paced high-tension match that made it a fan favorite. Prop Hunt, a party game mode where six players hide and disguise themselves as common items such as chairs, cans, and even arcade machines with the other six players searching the opposing team. Dropkick, is a new game mode that serves as a hot potato with a nuclear briefcase with whomever holding the case is equipped with a powerful pistol, players will need to work together to protect the briefcase and its handler.
