Jetman Dubai has publicly debuted a demonstration of their new flight suit, buzzing around like Iron Man on Friday.
One of their pilots successfully executed a take-off from the ground and transitioned directly into a high altitude flight. No flight has launched from a ground level from this time. Vince Reffet was the very first to do it, and looked like a real-life Iron Man.

The company uploaded a video and shows Reffet buzzing around at unbelievably quick speeds! At about the 2 1/2 minute mark is where things really take off as he quickly accelerates and increases his altitude to over 6000 feet!
The highly-advanced wingsuit is made of carbon fiber and contains four individual mini jet engines. Combined, these engines allow the pilot to travel about 3000 get in just 30 seconds. In the video, you can see him hit speeds of over 150 MPH and hitting over 6000 feet in altitude. In order to land successfully, Reffet needed to open his parachute to safely land back on the ground.
“We are so happy we achieved this incredible flight. It’s the result of extremely thorough teamwork, where each small step generated huge results,” Reffet said in the statement. “Everything was planned to the split second, and I was overjoyed by the progress that was achieved. It is another step in a long-term project.”
Looks like the world is gearing up for a real life team-up of Avengers! Hopefully we can see Captain America following shortly behind. Is there any other superhero that translates believably to real life? Let us know what tech advances you’re hoping for in the comments below.
