The film looks to be a coming-of-age story of a young woman who is noticeably different than her mother. The differences kind of embarrass her, but with teenagers, she still loves her. The animation of Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko looks gorgeous, and in the announcement trailer, you will see some Studio Ghibli references that highlight the beauty and the comedy of the film. Nikuko’s boldness seems like it will be very entertaining, however her happy and jovial presentation leads me to believe it will contrast hard with the drama and fill the audience with tears. The stills GKIDS provided, also seem to enforce that belief.

Being 6’ 4” and Asian, he never really fit in, so he got comfortable standing out. Not only is it easy to find him in crowds, he dabbles in the culinary arts, does a little stand up and improv, and can honestly say Spider-Man is the Jesus-like influence of his life.
