Drax the Destroyer and Mantis are feeling the holiday spirit. Fans will get to see their favorite Guardians once again later this month when The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special finally debuts on Disney+. However, before that, Marvel Studios released a new promotional image for the show, featuring Drax and Mantis wearing some hilarious, ugly Christmas sweaters.
THE GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY HOLIDAY SPECIAL PROMOTIONAL POSTER FEATURES DRAX AND MANTIS SHOWCASING THEIR HOLIDAY SPIRIT
The new promotional poster for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special first appeared on the Marvel Studios Spoilers subreddit. The image depicts Drax and Mantis in some great holiday gear. Drax is wearing an adorable sweater with what appears to be a cat shooting eye laser beams in front of a slice of pizza and assorted candy canes. Meanwhile, Mantis is wearing her own sweater that looks more like a Christmas tree with ornaments on it while also holding a giant candy cane.
It’s appropriate that the marketing for the special is centered around Drax and Mantis because they will be the ones visiting Earth to get a special gift for their friend, Peter Quill aka Star-Lord. In the special, in order to cheer up the forlorn Star-Lord, Drax and Mantis go to Earth to find the legendary Kevin Bacon to bring him to Quill as a Christmas present.
The promotional material released for the show, featuring wacky Drax and Mantis getting into mischieve has been great. Another great promotional poster features Drax and Mantis passed out, possibly drunk, laying next to each other with Christmas lights wrapped around them on the street. It looks like they are in for quite a wild night.
It looks like Drax and Mantis will be getting into many misadventures, visiting the Hollywood sign, the Hollywood Blvd. Walk of Fame, the TCL Theatre, and also breaking into Kevin Bacon’s own home to basically kidnap him. The official trailer
Based on the recently released official trailer, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun and will be a fun, festive gathering for the Guardians crew. It also promises to once again feature Cosmo, who will be a featured character in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. It will be nice to see Cosmo again since the character only had a cameo appearance really in the original film.
The wait for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special won’t be too much longer. The Marvel Studios “Special Presentation” debuts on Disney+ on Friday, November 25. The special sees the return of Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Karen Gillan as Gamora, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis. Of course, the special also features the real Kevin Bacon appearing as himself.

After that, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will be the last hurrah for the current iteration of the team, arrives in theaters on May 3, 2023. James Gunn returns to write and direct the sequel, along with the holiday special.
