Avatar fans rejoice! The Legend of Korra is finally coming to Netflix after the huge success of its predecessor series, Avatar The Last Airbender!
The Legend of Korra was brought to light when Nickelodeon initially declined a pitch to do an animated follow up movie to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Nickelodeon then decided to pick up The Legend of Korra for a twelve episode miniseries, which bloomed into full four seasons after the success of the first season.
If fans watched Avatar: The Last Airbender and liked what they saw they are sure to enjoy The Legend of Korra as it stands up as a fairly worthy follow up to the original series. The series sees both new and old faces coming together for even more bending action in this epic follow up!

The Legend of Korra Official Synopsis
Taking place 70 years after the events of “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” this story follows the adventures of the Avatar after Aang – a passionate, rebellious, and fearless teenage girl from the Southern Water Tribe named Korra. With three of the four elements under her belt (Earth, Water, and Fire), Korra seeks to master the final element, Air.
Her quest leads her to the epicenter of the modern “Avatar” world, Republic City – a metropolis that is fueled by steampunk technology. It is a virtual melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. However, Korra discovers that Republic City is plagued by crime as well as a growing anti-bending revolution that threatens to rip it apart. Under the tutelage of Aang’s son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training while dealing with the dangers at large.
The Legend of Korra will be available on Netflix August 14th in the US.
