A Sonic the Hedgehog animated series was officially announced by Netflix back in December of last year and their Tweet was mysteriously deleted almost immediately afterward.
This has lead fans to wonder what happened to the Sonic the Hedgehog Netflix series and why it’s announcement was deleted from Netflix’s NX Twitter account.

There are quite a few possibilities of what could have happened here and I hope to go over some of those now.
Was the Sonic Netflix Series Cancelled?
The mysterious deletion of the announcement has had fans worried that the project has been canceled. I personally don’t see this to be the case.
Considering the tweet was deleted so quickly after it was posted it is unlikely that Netflix decided to cancel the show in such a short period of time.

The more likely scenario is that there was probably a scheduling issue with the announcement. Either the tweet was scheduled to come out at a certain time but was submitted wrong or the manager of the account was under the assumption that the announcement was ready to go but jumped the gun a little bit.
The most baffling part of this story is that neither Netflix nor Sega have commented on this since the leak. While it shouldn’t normally be expected of companies to comment on news like this it’s not like this was leaked by another site like ours. It was leaked by Netflix themselves so I do find it quite odd that neither company has commented on the matter yet.
