Chris Pine (Star Trek, Wonder Woman 1984) and Danny DeVito (Batman Returns, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) are set to star in an upcoming mystery titled Poolman.
Chris Pine is also set to write and direct the film while fellow Wonder Woman alum, director Patty Jenkins is set to produce alongside Stacey Sher and Ian Gotler.
Chris Pine and Danny Devito Finally To Unite on the Big Screen in Poolman
Chris Pine and Danny DeVito are finally going to cross pass on the big screen after many failed attempts. DeVito was offered to star as the giant in a 1990s adaptation of Into the Woods that never came to fruition. Pine, however, did go on to star in the film as Cinderella’s Prince 20 years later.

They were almost on the big screen again in the 2019 adaptation of Dumbo. DeVito starred as the ringmaster in the film and Pine was offered the role of the father but passed.
Now, Pine and DeVito will be starring in Poolman as Darren Barrenman and Jack Denisoff respectively:
Pine’s character, Darren Barrenman, is described as an eccentric and peculiar pool cleaner who wishes to stand up for the authentic city of Los Angeles from the clutches of developers and real estate types. He is a committed public activist and finds himself sucked into an investigation by a dirty city council member.
DeVito’s character, Jack Denisoff, is a big-time TV producer/director who has had a career slump and a run of bad investments and now lives in a modest one-bedroom apartment. He’s talkative, friendly, and desperate to get back into the entertainment business. Jack is working on a documentary about Darren and encourages him to pursue his investigation.
Pine and DeVito are currently the only actors booked for Poolman. Production is set to begin in early 2022. What are your thoughts on Poolman starring Chris Pine and Danny DeVito?
