New BTS footage from the set of The Flash movie has been released showing Batman in action.
Specifically, stuntman Rick English (who is doubling for Ben Affleck’s version of the Caped Crusader here and Robert Pattinson’s in 2022’s The Batman) is seen filming an exciting action sequence on the BatCycle, as shown on the official Twitter page:

It appears Batman likes waiting in traffic about as much as the rest of us. If that wasn’t enough to get your Bat hearts beating, the page also released still images of Batman showcasing his suit for the film:

From these photos, the suit appears to be a modified version of the outfit in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, with the most noticeable change being the back. As far as we know, The Flash will be Ben Affleck’s final time donning the cape and cowl and retroactively connect the DC Extended Universe with the Tim Burton-directed Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). This story element is likely via an adaptation of the Flashpoint storyline (in which Barry Allen travels back in time hoping to make positive changes, but has a huge ripple effect on the wider DC Universe).

Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West from Zack Snyder’s Justice League (she was the woman Barry saved from the bus crash) and Ezra Miller will once again portray the Scarlet Speedster after debuting in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), cameoing in Suicide Squad (also 2016), and appearing in a larger role for the 2017 and 2021 Justice League movies.
Ron Livingston replaces Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, while new cast members include Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Sasha Calle debuting as the DCEU’s Supergirl, Michael Keaton reprising his Batman, and more.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti (2013’s Mama and the 2017 and 2019 It reboot films) with a screenplay by Christina Hodson (who’s also writing the Batgirl movie and penned 2018’s Bumblebee and 2020’s Birds of Prey). The Illuminerdi will keep you updated as the story develops.

The Flash is speeding towards a November 4, 2022 release date forgoing any unforeseen road bumps. What do you think of the BTS video and images for The Flash? Will you run to see it when it releases? Let us know in the comments below and on our Twitter.
