Actor and comedian JB Smoove excitedly reveals his most anticipated villain to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home in an exclusive interview with The Illuminerdi.
In the realm of blockbuster superhero movies, there is nothing building up a level of hype like that of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Rumored to open up the MCU’s multiverse for the first time on the big screen, Tom Holland’s third solo outing has the chance to potentially be the biggest solo superhero outing ever brought to the big screen.
No Way Home is flooded by rumors and confirmations of characters returning not only from the MCU, but also from both Sam Raimi and Marc Webb’s Spider-Man universes. Alfred Molina possibly got on Marvel Studios’ hit list by fully confirming his comeback as a de-aged Doctor Octopus. While we at The Illuminerdi exclusively reported on return appearances for Thomas Hayden Church’s Sandman and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. Not to mention that even Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire have been rumored to return as their respective Spider-Men.
Considering the massive cast coming into play in this movie, fans and crew alike are naturally building excitement for heroes and villains that haven’t been seen on screen in the MCU before. This is even the case with one of the movie’s own actors, who recently shared some of his thoughts with The Illuminerdi.
JB Smoove On His Favorite Spider-Man: No Way Home Villain
Actor/comedian JB Smoove recently spoke with The Illuminerdi on his return as Julius Dell in Spider-Man: No Way Home. When asked which villain in the movie he was most excited to see return, JB Smoove couldn’t hold back his excitement for Jamie Foxx’s Electro:
“Of course man, Jamie Foxx coming back, baby. Come on, what’s up, Jamie! That’s my dude right there, I’m excited, I’m very excited about it.”

Nearly a year ago, Jaime Foxx kicked off the insanity surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home with the news that he would be reprising his role as Electro from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. He even teased that he wouldn’t be blue this time around, although his potential appearance alone sent fans into a frenzy over what Marvel and Sony had planned for the threequel.
While it’s still unclear how big of a role Electro will play in the movie, he appears to be part of a multiversal Sinister Six that Tom Holland’s Spidey will have to deal with in the midst of his identity crisis. Coming from Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man universe, Foxx will have the opportunity to reassert himself as a formidable foe after his original outing earned widely mixed reviews in theaters.

No matter how Foxx makes his presence felt, it will be thrilling to see him suit up as the electricity-wielding villain after seven years away from superhero films. Couple that with Doctor Strange’s magic and more Spidey madness than ever before, and fans will be in for one crazy ride at the end of the year.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will release in theaters on December 17, 2021. The movie’s long-awaited first trailer is widely expected to debut at CinemaCon tonight.
