Catwoman: Hunted Trailer And Other DC Animated Movies For 2022 Revealed

The trailer for Catwoman: Hunted was revealed at DC FanDome alongside other announcements for animated DC projects.

DC’s favorite femme fatale is all set to sink her claws in a brand new animated adventure. Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman will be busy unleashing her fury in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, so we will have Elizabeth Gilles making her roar loud and clear as the iconic character in DC’s Catwoman: Hunted. Here we have our first look at the film, with a dash of anime sprinkled in.

Catwoman: Hunted released this first look at DC FanDome this weekend, a massive virtual event dedicated to DC fans worldwide. Here we get to see Selina Kyle/Catwoman with all her ferocity, bravado, and wit. Catwoman is well known for walking the line between hero and villain, so this film will naturally explore what happens when a heist gets butchered and Selina ends up making enemies on both sides in a truly glorious anime fashion.

Did you recognize any of the voices? I’m sure you recognized a few. Elizabeth Gillies, who you may know from Dynasty and Victorious will be voicing Catwoman, while Batwoman is voiced by Stephanie Beatriz from the hit comedy, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Black Mask, Solomon Grundy, Cheetah, Talia al Ghul, and so many other foes will appear in this anime feature. You’ll find the full cast down below, for those of you who’d like to know more.

The panel also confirmed that Catwoman: Hunted will premiere on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray, and digital on February 8, 2022. Anime has grown and broadened its fan base a long time ago, so I expect to see this well-received across nations. Greg Weisman is a great writer, and if this trailer is any indication, the movie will have an interesting story. Shinsuke Terasawa has a good track record as a director and is well versed with the world of anime having works ranging from Mobile Suit Gundam, Dragon Ball Z, Beast King GoLion, among others.

Even More DC Animated Movies Join Catwoman: Hunted in 2022

After Catwoman: Hunted concluded its panel, the magnificent Elizabeth Gilles treated fans to announcements to four new DC animated movies for 2022. Green Lantern: Beware My Power, alongside DC’s first CG feature, Battle of the Super Sons, the kid-friendly movie, Teen Titans Go! & DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse, and finally DC Showcase – Constantine: House of Mystery which is set to be a collection of animated short films revolving around the fan-favorite, Hellblazer.

DC seems to be going all out next year against the goliath that is Marvel. The Batman, Shazam: Fury of The Gods, The Flash, and Black Adam are all among the most anticipated live-action films DC has to offer in 2022, and they are taking matters into their own hands to make sure we do not forget about their animated side beginning with Catwoman: Hunted, and I for one can’t wait to see what more content they have to offer.
