A new teaser trailer for Shazam: Fury of the Gods was revealed at today’s DC Fandome event.
After a wildly successful outing in 2020, DC FanDome is back with a bang for another round of virtual excitement this weekend. This DC-centric semi-comic-con will give fans new looks and teases at everything set to come to not only the DC Extended Universe, but also for numerous other properties that will debut on the CW, HBO Max, and other major outlets.
The highlight of this years event is the arrival for a handful of blockbuster trailers, which have been the talk of the comic book company for most of the past year as films and TV shows have gotten back to filming and releasing to the public. Some of the big ones include a new full look at Matt Reeves’ The Batman and potentially the first official material from movies like Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.
Also set to make an impact this weekend is the anticipated panel for Shazam!: Fury of the Gods, which is currently the film in the DCEU slate that’s furthest out from release. Not set for its theatrical debut until June 2, 2023, there hasn’t been a ton of official footage or information released about the movie, although that hasn’t stopped hype from building in the slightest.
Zachary Levi and Asher Angel will have some high-profile co-stars this time around, namely with Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu taking on the mantle of the DCEU’s next major supervillains against Billy Batson and his super alter-ego. However, only a bit of this action has been seen by the public thanks to leaked set images and teases of the new costumes coming to the sequel.

In early June 2021, director David F. Sandberg offered the first small look at Levi in action, although it only consisted of the actor standing in the dark in his new costume as he contemplated his surroundings. Now, thanks to the movie’s panel at DC FanDome, there is a more hefty amount of material to dive into.

During the aforementioned panel, Zachary Levi and crew debuted the very first full look at Shazam!: Fury of the Gods. While only a few seconds of footage was shown, fans got interviews with multiple cast members including Zachary Levi and Helen Mirren alongside director David F. Sandberg.
With only a couple minutes of footage from this Shazam!: Fury of the Gods‘ set, fans are looking forward to seeing exactly how Levi and the team will expand on Shazam’s story within the DCEU and take the action to new levels of insanity. The costumes for all the heroes look impeccable with new material and designs, and the on-set action looks to be set to deliver some incredible sequences on-screen.
From these interviews, it seems clear that the cast and crew are beyond amped up and ready to give their all for this anticipated sequel, which just finished filming over the summer.
With the movie nearly two years away from its release, fans will continue looking forward to the future for post-production updates and eventually the movie’s first trailer, which will likely come sometime next year. With Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu bringing two new intense villains into play against the movie’s superhero family, the stage is set for an absolutely explosive outing within the DCEU.
