After the success and positive reviews of Insomniac’s 2018 Spider-Man game fans became excited for its upcoming sequel, Spider-Man 2.
After the first game, Insomniac did release a spin-off Spider-Man game featuring and starring Miles Morales as the iconic Web Crawler. Although the Spin-Off game also received success and rave reviews, fans still wanted more news about the main line sequel game. Fortunately fans got their wish as in early September Insomniac released the first trailer of Spider-Man 2.

The trailer featured Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ respective Spider-Men. The trailer also revealed that Kraven The Hunter and Venom would be the main villains for the upcoming game. It was also announced that Candyman actor Tony Todd would be voicing Venom. The trailer got many fans of excited and garnered well received responses. The fans’ reaction of the trailer even got Spider-Man voice actor Yuri Lowenthal talking about the fans response in a recent interview with ComicBook.Com.
Spider-Man 2 & Expectations
During the interview Lowenthal expressed his pleasure and gratitude on the positive reactions fans gave the recent trailer for Spider-Man 2. Lowenthal explained his excitement in returning to voice Spider-Man by saying that “I’m over the moon. I’m over the moon to be back playing Spider-Man again and it’s a dream come true that this is my job”.
Lowenthall also expressed his excitement on working with Todd in the upcoming video game sequel. Lowenthall explained that “I knew they wanted to hear something. Anything. And while we can’t really tell them anything, they at least wanted to know that the game is coming [Laughs]. I hoped they would be as happy as they were and that the response would be positive, but all I can say is just know that I’m as excited as you about [the game]!”. With the statements that Lowenthall explained in the interview, fans can expect an ambitious sequel to the hit 2018 game.
Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 has no official release date. However it has been announced that it will release in 2023. It has also been announced it that the game would release exclusively on the Playstation 5. Bryan Intihar, Marcus Smith, and Ryan Smith are reported to return as the director and game directors. Lowenthall is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker. Nadji Jeter is also set to reprise his role as Miles Morals. Candyman actor Tony Todd is set to voice Venom.
